The old cobra r's were around 60k, the new sc cobras go for 34k brand new, and I have a friend selling his for 29k right now with only 6k miles.

Yes the new SC mustangs are fast and handle well, but they are still a mustang and i hate mustangs. Why? couldnt tell you. Just dont like them, i think they have been ugly since the early 70's. Ive always thought of mustangs as the enemy. I can think of several different ways id rather spend 34K. Plus, its pretty sad that they had to use a SC to get 390 HP out of a v8, i read an article with some of the ford engineers saying they wanted to do it n/a, but couldnt get the numbers they wanted out of that engine without forced induction. Not flamin you, thats just my humble opinion.:uzi Mustangs

And that is one reason why I do love these forums. Differences in opinion make one think more. lol

There are many other cars I would take over a mustang for that price also. BMW M3, need I say anymore?, lol

I agree on that one. I would take one of the new M3s any day over a Cobra mustang.

I can see it now; I am at a stop light in my WRX. An SRT-4 pulls up next to me and wants to race. We both rev our engines and when the light turns green... I have already hit 60mph and the SRT is still spinning its tires.

There are a lot of cars that are geared to the sport compact market. What was missing in your list was the Mazda SpeedToyota Matrix/Pontiac VibeFord Focus SVT

All I have to say there is going to be more ricers in more expensive cars that they will just mess up. Also, more accidents and deaths because of the increase hp and targeting of teenagers and young adults.

Well, just wait until Fast and Furious 2 and Initial D hits the market.

Oh yeah, and for $60k, I'd import a used Skyling GT-R through Motorex. :)

It is impossible to find a NEW M3 for under 60k fully loaded, but you can find a 99-00 for that price. Personally I am looking for a 96-97 estoril blue or I could go with a darkar yellow coupe.

Aren't neons $10,000 with fogs, sound system and lots of goodies? Why pay $10,000 more for a turbo? That's the biggest rip off ever.

Oh, yeah, i already knew about that, the new GT-R M3 are like $225k. and the regular ones are around $60k. i would like an older one, a black one. or silver., but the blue and yellow do look nice.

Oh, and the Mazda Speed Protege is actually not that bad of a car. they really did a number on the suspencion and handling as well and make a pretty good engine.

The mazda speed is a nice handling car but it dosen't have any power "considering its a turbo". 160 horse, and right around the same in torque if I recall right is quite hidious "sp??" if you ask me. They have mentioned though if you change the intercooler and add a boost gauge you can get a better number outta her.

I still think the best bang for the buck as far as performance goes in new cars is the WRX. Now if Suburu could just fix its fugly problem, you would have a kick *** car.

I happen to like the look of the WRX. No other car really looks like it on the road. I assume you are talking about the front of the car specifically the lights. Subaru does have the answer to the WRX's "Fugly Problem"

That car (whats a b22, foriegn version of WRX?) looks nice Coldzero. I just think the front of the WRX looks like crap. Should be more sleek, and look less like a frog. Just my opinion.

There are a bunch of new cars coming out, and for a while I was thinking about getting one of them. I was leaning toward the Sentra Spec-V because it seemed to be the car with the most potential, for the least amount of cost. And being a Nissan, I knew that it would have strong support.

Then after doing a lot of research, I realized that for what I'd spend on a new car, I can build a nice S13 240SX that will eat all of those new cars for breakfast. So now I'm searching for a chassis to be the home of an SR20DET, and thanking fate for not spending $17k+ on a new car.

For bang for the Buck, 03 Cobra - runs mid 12s stock, and with simple bolt-ons, have been running 10s. that’s the fastest bang for the buck any day. would i buy one, no i would rather have a Z06, or 00+ M3. Oh and the 03 Cobra is faster, and handles better then a Cobra R.

as for the import market, i really don’t like fwd, so only the wrx, evo, or the g35/350z interest me much. but if i were to get a fwd car, i would most likely get a svt focus (it is one solid little car) may not be the fastest, but handles like a mad man.

raping the s*** out of a srt-4 and still having 8k in the bank, priceless:D

It actually is 250. SCC dyno'd it at 250hp, and like 260tq.

sport compact car webpage says they dyno'd it at 223 hp and 250 ft/lbs of tq at the wheels, but it is rated at 215 and 245 by the manufacturer, so until you buy one and dyno it yourself don't state how much hp a magazine says it really has. who says they even got a true production model?

Good point, its just like people with 240's that get different power at the flywheel and all their cars are stock.

i have to give dodge credit, atleast tehy are finally trying to win some wars. this year you got the new neon to fight the sport compact battles, that new hemi station wagon thing that has 450hp and runs 4.7 0-60 for 30grand. that sweet pickup with the viper engine is gonna own all of them lightnings runnin around. if they could get the neon's reliability on par with the imports, and lower the price 2 grand they may have something goin.

sure 220 hp and 240 ft/lbs sounds nice, but all that power is going to be absolutley useless when one of your pistons goes flying through the roof of the car.Check a source like conusmer's reports for reliability of neons and their engines, they are horrible now imagine a crappy *** engine with 15 psi, that's asking for trouble

p.s. stock mustang SVT runs 12.93 1/4 mile

i think dodge does have something going. certainly not for 95% of the people who come around here, but think of all those cars you see each day. (a '93 mazda protege with no muffler just flew by my window full throttle-i hate that guy). all that matters to dodge's customers (and D.C.) is this:

The car is cheap."Kids" want speed and fun. or whatever. this car delivers it...in a Gremlin GTSTR sort of way.It can be FINANCED.It has a warranty.

DC will no doubt sell every last one they make. and in turn, it will help them to create more ****ING STUPID *** MINIVAN COMMERCIALS FEATURING THAT DUMB WAILING BROAD AND HER UGLY BASTARD CHILD. that is all.

Isn't that B22 a regular impreza..? btw I was looking @ the SRT-4 when I read super street for the first time (last year...haven't wasted my money on that s*** ever since) and then I realized...its a dodge. When my dads neon (would have been mine) broke (thank god) I realized that most dodge cars were CRAP. (Trucks are a different story). Wow parenthesis are fun.
