I've had opportunities to get an A8, but the ownership costs scared me. When the previous (04+) generation gets down to 10 grand or less, I'd consider one as a cash car. With no interest and no payments, the repairs would be easier to justify.

My cousin just bought an A6, and its magnificent.

Audi's have always been fav of mine.

My buddy recently sold his 2001 A6 4.2 and I sorely miss it.

Great cars, but the long term ownership costs scare me and I drive 10-15 yr old cars.

My buddy is especially fond of the 1995.5 S6 Quattros. He has 3 of them, including a wagon I thrashed around on ice a few months ago . 1995 had the boxier styling, turbo 5 cyl, bullet proof motors, roomy and comfortable without the technological terror stuff that plagues new German cars.

I like the new rear end the most, out of all the A8 rear ends. Very nice car, I think the S8 should be really impressive for sure!
