I would say most (at leat 95%) Japanese cars are at least 5X more reliable compare to the middle class to lower end American or European cars.
Yes, Versa have fuel pump, ignition, this & that problems, but.... so do a HHR. Chevy have way more problems than a Versa. Versa, you know what goes wrong, in another word, those problems are known;American cars, sometimes you don't even know what went wrong, it can be some idoit putting the wrong stuff, or improper installation to some faulty parts.
I'm not sure how the Canadian market works - but why would paying cash offer an advantage when the car company is financing at 0% for 60 months?Slither wrote:Regardless of what dad chooses tell him not to finance - pay cash.Or hold on to what you already have until this storm blows over.
Car prices are in downward spiral the longer you save and hold off the better.
I drove a Chevy Cobalt yesterday as a rental and it was the biggest peice of crap i've driven in a long time. Plastic everywhere, horrible interior design and it drives like it looks.SuperTurbo wrote:Let say it this way....

You say that, but what if someone doesn't really want the Altima? I mean, they're great cars, but my wife wanted an economical hatch, not a midsize sedan. So I bought her a loaded SL with the sport package.grogman wrote: i would say buy the 1.8 hb s unless you have 16- 18 grand. for that price you can buy an altima factory preowned and that car is the cats meow................
A few posts on an online forum does not count as a scientifically meaningful poll. Independent reliability tracking site TrueDelta ranks the 2007 Versa as having above average reliability. The 2008's are below average thus far, but far fewer 2008s are reporting on the website than 2007s. But like others have mentioned, TSBs have already been issued on a few persistent issues, and it's under warranty anyway.aricbeemer wrote:Anyway now it seems the Versa isn't very reliable with people saying it has ignition problems and fuel pump problems.
Wow 2008's below average for reliabilty? Thats weird hopefully the 09's get better reliabilty.Rockhound wrote:

As for ours, we bought it in May 2007, and with just over 20k miles, it has been absolutely problem free. Lifetime gas mileage is 29.3 MPG, we've hauled things in it that would have never fit in a sedan, and rear seat occupants are always surprised by the roominess.
I'd highly recommend the Versa. Plus, do you really want to buy a car from a company about to file C11?
Usually they give you cash back discount. Ex. 20000 MSRP for the Versa. If you do a finance, you are lookin like 19000ish is the best which you can getAndrews Chalmers wrote:

That... involved with lots and lots and lots of stuff......1. Love & hate relationship (Even the president said so.....)2. [Don't quote me on that] someone said you got more tax refund from US cars...3. Generation to Generation's believe...williamk10 wrote:
