As you all know I drive a 2001 Infiniti QX4 in perfect condition with only 114,000 miles. Although it is a very nice SUV, my parents and I are tired of filling up every week with 93 octane (nissan recommended, don't bash. I dont live in the city and do a lot of highway driving). I am just curious, but does anyone know of any fuel efficient full size suv's that are recently new (2004 +)? My dad has a 2007 Tahoe LTZ with Flexfuel and he fills up every 2 weeks and does the same amount of driving. I want something thats not from Chrysler, Ford, or thats korean. I want an SUV because I like being in a large vehicle, and I need the 4WD in the winter. Price range is under $25K, new or slightly usedSome options I have come up with:

If I can find one in my price range haha. They're really nice. I drove my dad's tahoe today, it handles 10x better than the QX4 (drives like a car, and very powerful) but it has a lot of blind spots. The rear window is really small.

If you want to be manly, get a late-model Cherokee. Sure, its a Chrysler, but its really an AMC.

better yet Nala, get a job and pay for it yourself. Then maybe you wouldn't be looking for a 25k car/truck.

No fool. You don't need something brand new. Do what I did, get something you can beat up, but still looks ok. 96-98 Grand Cherokee with the 4.0L. If you only do highway you can get more than 400 miles on a tank.

Nala do you even have a job? I'm 24 years old active duty in the United States Navy, and I couldn't afford those (with the full coverage insurance they will require). I'm sorry but there is no reason to get a big SUV unless maybe you think it will score you a date for prom?

If you want fuel economy, get a civic. If you want to get women, grow a pair.

lol...

keep the goddamn QX4

it'll get just as good or better mileage than anything else right now and an extra 2 or 3 f***ing dollars a fill up won't break the bank.

hell, I WANT to put premium in my car.

I just don't have justification for it at the moment.

Aaaaannnnddd here we go again.

Nala seriously, you asked the same question back when you were looking for a replacement for the J30 and got some awesome advice and feedback in that thread. Do yourself a favor and re-read through that thread, as you're just going to get flamed and/or the exact same feedback and advice you got in that thread.

Buuuut since you won't listen to me, or anyone else for that matter, just be prepared for the s*** storm you are about to receive and don't go crying to Greg, Becky, or any of the other Mods/Admins to have the thread locked or deleted like a little p****.

Here's my .02 cents, seriously look at the Xterra, Murano, or even the Roque, all can be had for much less than your top asking price, and all are capable of the gas mileage you are looking for. Stay away from anything GM as they are trying to pull themselves out of the toilet they put themselves into in the last 3 years, and to be honest there is nothing wrong with anything that Hyandai has sold here, after all there is a reason why they have a 10 year 10K mile warranty, you don't put that kind of warranty on garbage.

Holy s***, I wish I had your kind of car budget.

I would suggest before buying another SUV you compare the fuel costs of the Infiniti versus start-up and fuel costs of purchasing another vehicle. Unless you can sell the Infiniti and buy something less than or equal to that value, I expect all you will end up doing is spending more money in the short- to mid-term. It's like the stupid yahoos who trade in their 23 MPG vehicle on a Prius for fuel costs' sake, where the math shows you put yourself in debt for several years comparatively.

Dude, You're what, 17-18 years old, still in HS, don't have a job, looking for a $25k suv, yet you're pissy about filling it up with premium?

Get a job, quit making your parents buy you s*** you don't deserve, get an old beater and drive that around. Get an old 4runner or something dude. Cheap, 4x4, decent size suv, all for FAR under $25k. It meets ALL of your requirements.

Can we just lock this thread now and save us all a lot of misery and headaches? On top of that can we somehow revoke Nala's ability to start threads?
