New to the site, and i have owned my 1992 M30 with 112K for almost 10 years with out problem. Just keep fluids in her and she runs great. My inspection is due and as luck would have it, i have gotten my first and second real problems that i can not seem to fix or find. So whats going on is this, my driver side headlights (hi/low) have gone out, at first i was like ok bulbs finally went, so i went and got replacements and installed them, but nothing. I have gone through the fuse block and found they are ok as well. I am stumped as to what could be wrong, passenger side works perfectly, marker turn, and brake lights all function as they should. has anyone run across this, from what i found on the net and here it is a common problem in the J30, but i couldn't find much on the M. Second, i have been avoiding this for sometime but my shocks are bad, and they need replaced. Is there an inexpensive replacement from another car that crosses over? I never used the shocks in any other mode than sport so a firm set would do the trick. any information or any help would be greatly appreciated, and by they way glad to finally find a forum for the M, i have been looking for one for a long time.

Thanks
Mike

Yes i tried to search through the site and still doing that now, all i have come across is the information about the J30 headlight relays being trouble. Haven't found anything about the M30's though, Saw a post about using Porsche shocks, don't know i want to go through with any modifications though, didn't know if there was a shock that would bolt into the strut tower and be done with it kind of thing. Thanks

try seeing if replacing the headlight relay fixes it. it was a problem with m J at one point and probably the same deal with yours. im trying to remember the guys name that has his M30 lowered on coilovers and stuff. i think is might be similar to 240sx s13 suspension, but dont quote me on that. i can see if i can ask him and find out details.

ok, checked all over, read through the manual... cant seem to find a headlight relay anywhere you guys are saying it should be. Any thoughts to where it might be on the M30. Says its behind the driver wheel well of the J30 but i dont have anything back there on the M30.

are their any relays on the passenger side? im still searching for the guy here in atlanta thats done a lot of custom stuff to his M30.

they could have it somewhere there in the engine bay or could have put it behind a debris shield in the fender well near the doors. i know on 300zx z32 they hide some relays behind the debris shields, on the J30s they dont.
