I've had my 04 G35 for a couple of months now and i'm loving it, but i'm getting the itch. I started to look into some performance parts and there is no better place to start then to get her breathing better.

I see that most of you have purchased the pop charger with z-tube. i wanted to know what was your reason for choosing this intake over the stillen, AEM or others. It seemed to me that the pop charger and stillen are basically.

Also for those who have the SSV Extreme Flow Kinetix Manifold. How hard is it to install yourself and is it worth it for the money?

I'm trying to save for the Vortech supercharger but since I have the money for the manifold i'm iching to buy it. I just don't want to buy it if it looks cooler then it performs.

I'm replying because I've done my homework, not because I have these mods.

The Kinetix plenums seem to only be worth it if you have FI. If not, the dyno numbers were...lame

I think most of the guys have gone with the JTW/z-tube combo because the other intakes (not the stillen) can possibly degrade performance in certain areas.

I personally think the pop-charger/z-tube combo is hideous and I avoid oiled filters like the plague (even though there's a K&N drop in filter that the previous owner placed in my car).

A plenum spacer may yield similar gains as the Kinetix plenum for a fraction of the cost and also allow you to keep your engine cover (I think with Kinetix, you have to buy one of theirs).

For the price of the manifold, you cold get yourself a nice exhaust from Intense Motorsports. Check out the sponsors marketplace. They had a special going.

Hey Brian...

I gotta say, as a former owner of the same year coupe, and having installed the Z tube and Pop Charger, you'll get the same results with that or the Stillen set-up, and save a bit of money to boot. I also had the 5/16 spacer... IMO, if you are saving for the FI setup, be patient and put the money you would have spent on a new intake toward the supercharger. You'll get there faster that way!

I'm glad you're sticking around. BTW how did the Lexus dealer treat your car with it having mods?

That's always been a question of mine, but I've never been in that perdictament.

Thanks Nate...

Regarding the G, They didn't even flinch. They asked me if I had modified anything besides the wheels. I said, "Only the exhaust and intake". (I didn't want to go into great detail about the spacer and the grounding wires, and it wouldn't have made much difference). They gave me 19k for it.

Thanks for the website. they seem to have everything for the G35. I think I might at least have to get a stillen intake for the time being. the only mod i've done was take of the infiniti letters on the back of my car.

What exhaust do you recommend? I don't want somthing thats way too loud.

Do a search for g35 or 350z exhaust sound clips. You won't find many on this site, but there is a competing forum with about 15 of them.

Go use their site, then come back and chit chat with us

That is calm... you should see me freak out.

I would check Youtube for exhaust clips. Also, the Greddy is awesome. I love it. I did have a few problems with the install, but nothing that I wasn't able to fix. You can see the threads here; zerothread/331428

I went with JWT because when I joined NICO, that's all people talked about here and I heard other good things about them as well. Stillen will give you essentially the same results. The reason I didn't go with AEM or any other traditional CAI is because of the long tubing. Long tubing reduces throttle response since the air takes longer to get there.

the kinetix V+ plenum is decent. It stays ALOT cooler then the stock plenum. I can run it hard and put my hand on it and it is just warm. I like that feature. The inside is a little smoother and i do think it adds gains. I got mine from a website that had $1 shipping. Also you can get it in a combo with highflow cats for like $669.99http://www.kinetixracing.com/i...ID=10

The kinetix SSV extreme plenum is a waste of money. It just looks nice.

Whoa whoa whoa, so it's ok to link to another site as long as their forum isn't up yet?

That's the site I was referring to. I just didn't want to link to it.
