  G35 Exhaust install

This is a how to for most G35 coupe exhaust installs. I used the Greddy EVO2 dual exhaust which requires relocating the evap canister.

IF YOU ARE NOT MECHANICALLY INCLINED, FIND A FRIEND WHO IS TO HELP YOU. THIS IS MORE DIFFICULT THAN AN INTAKE, BUT IS NOT NECESSARY TO PAY A SHOP TO INSTALL.

1. Open both drivers and passengers doors. Disconnect the negative terminal of the battery (while doors are open). This cracks the windows a little bit, and keeps them cracked, so you don't blow them out when opening and closing the doors.

2. Make sure car is in "P" for an automatic, or Neutral for a manual. Apply E-brake and put car on jack stands. DO NOT trust a couple of jacks to hold up the car.

3. Spray penetrating oil (PB Blaster or WD40) on all nuts and bolts connecting the exhaust. Spray the metal hangers that go through the rubber hangers. This will let them slide out, and prevent ripping the rubber.

4.Using a 14mm wrench a a lot of force, remove the nuts holding the exhaust system together. Grab the metal hangers and give a swift tug to "pop" them out of the rubber hangers. Remove all the necessary stock pieces.

(If your system doesn't require relocating evap canister, skip steps 5- 7 and move on to step 8)

5. Using a 10mm wrench, remove the heat shield that is above the stock muffler. Remove all the mounting brackets that hold the evap canister in place. Take both electrical plugs off canister, and remove all 3 hoses.

6. Replace the two large hoses with the supplied hoses. Wrap all three hoses with the thermal heat wrap that is supplied. (shiny side out) Zip tie the heat wrap around hoses.

7. Mount evap canister to the mounting bracket. Mount bracket back on the same 4 studs that held the heat shield above where the stock muffler was. Make sure that the hose nozzles are pointed toward the passengers rear tire. Connect all 3 hoses and electrical clips. Make sure none of the hoses are kinked.

8. Take the new Y-pipe and connect it to the cats. I re-used the stock gaskets at the cats. Bolt down tight.

9. Bolt the mid pipes to the Y-pipe. Don't forget the gaskets. Put the metal hanger through the rubber hanger. Use plenty of oil to make sure you don't tear the rubber.

10. Hang each tail pipe/muffler from the rubber hangers, then bolt to the mid pipes. Once again, use plenty of oil to prevent tearing the rubber. Don't forget the gaskets.

11. While car is still on jack stands, reconnect negative battery cable, and start the car. Check for exhaust leaks. If you have a leak, shut off the car, then tighten where it is leaking.

12. Roll down both windows all the way, then back up. This will reset the position.

13. Remove car from jack stands set radio stations and clock, then enjoy your new exhaust.
