I have heard that, with some modification, a z32 transmission can work on a VH45De. Any info on this topic will be much appreciated. Also, I couldn't find anything in the archives or recent topics.

Most likely your going to have to make your own, unfortunately... The people I konw that have them, dont really want to use theirs to remake them.

I just found an old thread of someone doing this and saying the VH has a larger bellhousing diameter than the VQ transmission. I assume the adapter plate I will have to make is going to bolt on to the VH and the VQ transmission will bolt on to the plate. If this is how it works, than won't that move the transmission off the engine the thickness of the adapter plate? If it does, do I need to make a spacer to move the throwout bearing closer to the clutch?

Is slim still selling them for $500 or so?

The clutch spacing issue has been solved by one or two people.

Ask John Dixon on this forum how he is doing it.

Unfortunately Slim is fairly hesitant to sell his adapter plates...... He doesnt have extra ones made, and if i understand correctly hed have to take his off and have it remade.

I think slim would make one for you as long as you took it to him for the install... one thing he doesnt want happening is buying his adapter plate, stealing his design and then reselling.
