My goal is to fit 225 tires in front and 245 tires in the back.

My thoughts are either 17x8 17x9 staggered or 16x8 all around.

This is for s13 so 4x114 lugs

any ideas? any recommended place to go search?

If you go with the 17's try a 215/45 front and a 235/40 rear or 225/45 front and 245/40 rear. Or any combination thereof. If you do with the 16x8's stick with a 225 all around. Either a 50 series or a 45 series (generally more expensive)

What are your goals? Why do you want 225F 245R?

I want to:- Increase traction as much as i can without rolling fenders- Reduce oversteer. I want grip, not drift, while keeping body roll minimum (i have hicar rear sway bar, which increases oversteer)

I must recommend against Sportmax if at all possible. Also with +35 offset you probably would want at least a 10mm spacer to keep from looking sunken like a battleship.

Any particular reason?

Well first off they are heavy as hell. And secondly I have seen a couple of pictures of ones that cracked. No amount of good looks from a wheel is worth having them crack while driving and wreck. I would try http://www.rbmotoring.com or maybe http://www.memoryfab.com. You can find some wheels staggered with decent offsets on those sites, you just gotta check them frequently and be patient.

*edit* I can relate to you because I run 17x8 and 17x9 with 225 and 245s. I picked up my wheels for just under $1000 at memoryfab.

So what would be an acceptable offset for:17x8 front17x9 rear

or 16x8 front16x8 rear

Well acceptable is a matter of opinion. Some people can deal with sunken in wheels. MY opinion is to at least get between +20 - +30 offset. However some others might call you a n00b for having anything greater than +10.

I don't exactly care for wheels that are sunken, as long as it does not rub.

There are a few in this thread that should give you an idea... this is one of the "stuck" threads
