If it's advice you're looking for, here's mine:

Your main question seems to be is the "trade" worth it, as in is the vert worth as much as the coupe in its given shape? That's where you'll need to do your homework - see how much coupes are going for in your area, see how much verts are going for in the southeast. Forget what you have in the coupe 'cause you're never going to get back what you have in it financially.

The vert is going to present a bunch of new challenges and you have to factor that into your decision. A lot of folks on this board use their verts as daily drivers so they can take the abuse. Some of us have them in a garage and tinker with them as money and time allows. Which camp are you in?

You can't go wrong with either Nissan and we're here to support you provided you've done your research. Now go get the vert!

Well you've already owned 2 other S13's, so I would hope you know what to look for. Its an S13 with a retractable roof.

Look for the obvious things that go wrong with any s-chassis. Rust, obviously. And the basics, does the car shift right since its been 5-speed swapped? Does the engine bay look like its been hacked through? Hows the body? Check the lines on the vert, it has extra bracing but is still more susceptable to twisting in the event of an accident then a coupe or a hatch. Make sure the body panels are straight and true. Take a center line measurement of the front tires and the rear tires. If they're out of line with eachother the frame may be twisted.

Basically, if the vert is straight and doesn't look like a bag of s***, and you get to keep your coils I would do it.
