I got an aftermarket steering wheel with quick release, nothing fancy. But to get the old wheel off I need to get rid of the wires that go to the cruise and airbag. I have the steering wheel hanging off of these right now and I dont know what to do with them. I thought about cutting them, but there is still the plastic thing the wires go into in the way. There is a contact piece they all go behind, do I just remove that? I'm lost on what to do now.

You should be able to unplug the wires from the steering wheel if the airbag is off.

The thing you are talking about is the clock spring. There is a coil of wires in there. The clock spring is bolted to the column, though I dont remember how.

Check the FSM, you can unbolt it, I just dont remember how off the top of my head.

Im sure you can. Depends on the wheels you get but i dont think its possible with a quick release, But who needs a horn anyways?

If you got to go to safety inspection than just swap it with the stock wheel for the mean time .

I dont have any pictures of it. I just pulled the horn wires from the column, and ran them to a toggle switch next to the Hazard button.

In theory I should have modified my hub to accept the spiral cable, that way I could have used the horn button on the wheel, but I was lazy.

That's exactly what I'm doing for my quick release, a cell charger cable is too small of a gauge, so I'm headed for a cig outlet extension cable when i get a chance.

the only reason I would want to use that wheel would be to put the cruise buttons wired to those buttons.

My horn has all the wiring inside, but without a clockspring off my hub, I cant see how I will make it work. I am thinking a momentary switch is the route to go. I have too many switches under my dash as it is :\One for fogsOne to turn off the backlight of my pillar gauges and my volt gaugeOne for My footwell lighting and on the other side is my volt gauge

It's getting crowded and I dont want to cut my dash haha

That's what I'm using the buttons for.
