Did you set the mechanical timing properly?
Is it running on all 4 cylinders? If you messed up the firing order you may be running on 2 cylinders, the engine will seem to idle smoothly, but it will have no power.
Is your exhaust restricted.
Have you checked manifold vacuu?
As far as timing the dist. was pointed to the number 1 on the cap and the rotation is 1342 CCW then its 1234 down the block thats the only way it runs right. then when i did the timing chain the wood drift keys were at 12oclock and the dot on the gear was about 5. on the cam the nub was at 12oclock and the dot on the gear was about 3. and the colored link on the chain was on both dots and the cam was in between the intake and exhaust loob so thats the compression stroke so all thats timed and the slash on the pulley was 2nd from the left when installed. the exhaust is free flowing I guted the cat thinking it was cloged but wasn't and the intake manifold has vaccum cause i took the brake booster hose of and its sucking and when trying to drive the brake pedal seems to be a little hard.
