Whats up nico, I'm in need of some help. I did a 5spd swap lately on my 93 s13 :chuckle: and I switched the ecu from auto to manual. I followed the wiring in the sticky for the conversion but my turn signals don't work at all. Also my cabin light, radio and the digital clock don't work either. If any one can help with this I would really appreciate it.

I think you have blown a fuse in the cabin fuse panel. Test all the fuses.

Well I'll do that but now I got another problem now. My car won't start anymore and so far I've replaced the distributor cap, rotor and the coil pack but still won't start. Also it does get fuel so what could be wrong??

First issues seems like a fuse, ECU by itself wouldn't cause them to stop working.

By "won't start" what do you mean? Turning over and not firing or starter not doing anything?

Well it's turning over and the starter works fine too. But it's just not getting spark. I just got done replacing the coil pack and still nothing, I didn't want to stay outside for long it's cold as hell. Also the spark plugs and the wires are new.

Idk what happened but it started yesterday, warmed it up and it bogged down and shut off and hasn't started since.

If you removed the harness for transmission and swapped them out, you need to check all of the grounds.

Well I didn't swap no harness I just used the old harness with a little cutting and splicing. But if it is a ground then would it still start and bog down like it did? Also a dude from autozome told me test the coil pack and I did, both new and old, and it's still not getting spark.

What he said was to take the coil wire set it somewhere and put a screw driver really close to and crank it. Did that with new coil pack too and still got no spark.

Have you tried checking the wires going to the coil? Making sure there is signal from the ecu carrying to the coil itself.

Anyone trying tracing the wires from the ECU to the PTU, CAS for power, grnd, signal ?
I assume you have fuel?

Not to thread jack, but I'll speak for myself here. The coil is getting power. The "power transistor" checks out good. The "resistor/condenser" square shaped thing, I've yet to figure out how to unplug it without mangling it. That's the last thing I have to check according to the FSM, but I also don't have leads long enough on my multimeter atm to check it all out. And about the CAS, the FSM mentions absolutely nothing about it when checking for the igntion signal which I thought was odd... For other info, my three MAF wires and one of the ground wires going to the coil were all chewed up but I soldered them together. I've yet to reset the ECU or see if it's throwing any codes.

Check your ECU. That's what mine turned out to be.

Why did you swap ECU's? There was no need.

try using a piece of speaker wire to jump the green relay for the power to the distributor.... it takes two seconds to do and if it starts working the problem is either the relay or the ECU, if not those then its one of the few parts left. I had to change my #28 ecu because the green relays for the distributor and the fuel pump (EGI) quit working. good luck

Well today i got the cabin light to work and the radio  , but my turn signals don't work or the hazard lights. Now I have a flasher for my 240 and i looked up the location for the flasher in FSM. Checked the spot but there is nothing there that looks like the flasher that i have. Could it be a wrong one?? Can someone post up pic of what it looks like for the s13 and where its located at?? Also if i didn't plug up the ground for the coil would it cause a wire to short out and not get spark at all?? Cause everything works but the turn signals and no spark. And most of the plugs on the harness have a yellowish carbon type of thing built up on them, would that cause any problems? Im thinking about just getting a different engine harness and see if it works out...

Well i got it started today. It turned out to be a bad ignition control module. But i still need help with the flasher for the turn signals...

Also thanks to everyone who helped :)
