After further research I did come to find out that those inserts are indeed only for the 10's and above.
I still might give those halo fogs I am looking at a shot. I realize the output will be a lot lower but I rarely drive out of town, and even more rare that when I do it's at night. So I guess at this point I am gonna put the halos in for more of the cosmetic look. One of my good friends owns a pretty reputable performance shop in the city I live in. He says that the internet is what it is and you kinda pay for what you get on it. A good set of fog lights made by someone like PIAA are going to set you back some bucks but they are well worth it. I am just not wanting to dump a ton of money into fogs right now as I want to put some new wheels on it by the time the snow melts this spring.
yea my fogs was mainly cosmetics, didn't really care for the light output.
DJBeasy wrote:Hungs one more question for you. Did you swap the bulbs out or use the H3s they supplied with the set? I bought PIAAs to swap out. The Spyder bulbs have 2 leads and the PIAAs only have 1. Im assuming the negative on the PIAA is connected to the metal housing but wanted to be sure before I start clipping wires. Did you come across this?
Oh and BTW. The link I posted, and the set I bought, are also Spyder brand. Mine did come with a double switch though so maybe they updated the part number and what is included, as well as the quality.
to answer your question no i didn't swap out the bulbs, and yes the black wire is the negative on the spyder, i'm not sure how the PIAA's are though.
about the double switch, i wish i waited till they had that it would be nice to just have the halos on.
but either way i wanted it to have an OEM look. by that i mean i bought the combo switch that has the on/off switch for the fogs.
I also searched online for some place that sold connectors for H11 lights and some bullet plug tips from autozone. put them together and was able to use my car's pre-wires.
