Did anyone actually get these projector foglights installed and do you have pics of the light output?

EDIT: Nevermind guys, found it. For anyone else who was curious: post5788214.html?hilit=projector%20fog%20light#p5788214

I asked my dealer about those when I was getting the sensors done. They said $459 for those projector fogs + inserts (mounting gear) + installation and warranty ofc. fogs are the last mod on my list..

Edit: DJ, they're all over ebay! Son, I'm disappoint :tisk:
Edit2: Nvm, no pics of them installed

Go to Lynnes in Bloomfield. They are the only dealership in northern NJ that won't rape you for service.

Fog lights are easy to install. I guarantee you can DIY for whatever you bought the fog lights for.

sorry i have no light output pictures of these fog lights. in all honesty the ones i got (spyder halo projector) from autoanything.com are crap for light output. halos are lit up by two cheep white LEDs and they come with some cheep bulbs. I wanted to install HIDs in my fogs but with it being an aftermarket light, i think they build it too long. after installing it the right light housing almost nearly rubs against my water reservoir tank, so there was no way to install the HIDs without removing the reservoir.

the fog lights themselves should come with a mounting part. if you go back to the first page about half way down i have some pics showing the mounting piece. its the bulky plastic thing around the fog lights.

but if you were talking about the plastic inserts that go on the bumper. just go to the dealership and talk to the parts guy. tell him you want to buy the plastic inserts for fog lights. (part number listed below)

Hungs,

Are you disappointed with spyder halos you purchased? Is it more the overall light output you are disappointed in? I am looking at some similar ones for about $80 someone on another thread recommended.

I noticed the switch that comes with them has not one but two on/off buttons on it. Is this so you can turn on the outer "halo" part which is more for looks and then also the full light itself?

Also...if I have a 08 coupe that didn't come with factory fogs will I need those plastic inserts you have been discussing in this thread as well?

If you look closely those inserts are ONLY for 2010+ coupes.

yes i am disappointed with the spyder halos from autoanything.com. so i don't recommend buying from them.
as for the one's your looking at i'm not sure because there are many other makers of these halos.
DJBeasy posted a link with someone that had a good set.
i think those are probably going to be better.

mine came with only one on/off button so my halos turn on with the fogs.
i would assume if it has 2 on/off its for that feature.

i'm not sure how the 08 bumper is, so i cant answer you there.

Thanks for the reply!

After further research I did come to find out that those inserts are indeed only for the 10's and above.

I still might give those halo fogs I am looking at a shot. I realize the output will be a lot lower but I rarely drive out of town, and even more rare that when I do it's at night. So I guess at this point I am gonna put the halos in for more of the cosmetic look. One of my good friends owns a pretty reputable performance shop in the city I live in. He says that the internet is what it is and you kinda pay for what you get on it. A good set of fog lights made by someone like PIAA are going to set you back some bucks but they are well worth it. I am just not wanting to dump a ton of money into fogs right now as I want to put some new wheels on it by the time the snow melts this spring.

Hungs one more question for you. Did you swap the bulbs out or use the H3s they supplied with the set? I bought PIAAs to swap out. The Spyder bulbs have 2 leads and the PIAAs only have 1. Im assuming the negative on the PIAA is connected to the metal housing but wanted to be sure before I start clipping wires. Did you come across this?

Oh and BTW. The link I posted, and the set I bought, are also Spyder brand. Mine did come with a double switch though so maybe they updated the part number and what is included, as well as the quality.

yea my fogs was mainly cosmetics, didn't really care for the light output.

to answer your question no i didn't swap out the bulbs, and yes the black wire is the negative on the spyder, i'm not sure how the PIAA's are though.

about the double switch, i wish i waited till they had that it would be nice to just have the halos on.
but either way i wanted it to have an OEM look. by that i mean i bought the combo switch that has the on/off switch for the fogs.
I also searched online for some place that sold connectors for H11 lights and some bullet plug tips from autozone. put them together and was able to use my car's pre-wires.
