JDMenthused- I was just wondering how much you are paying for the RB you ordered? 'shelling out' means paying for

ClubSX- Mitsubishis just don't look too well put together. Kind of like a Chrysler. I hear they break a lot. The Prelude would be a much better car and would last longer and hold its value better. .. from a chick car point of view.

You should talk her into a late model low mileage 240. Then take it from her a few years from now when she's bored of it

Nismochick- I'm stuck in the same dillemma. I can't settle on an engine choice. The KA-T is looking better to me these days cause its more of a pay as you go thing, rather than dropping 2-3k just to get it. Besides you can build the hell out of it for $2500 or less, I would think, and when its done its in like-new condition. And then spend the same $$ you would on a new turbo that you would have when it came time to buy a new upgraded turbo for the RB or SR. You actually gave me the idea to do this at the drift expo when you started talking about having a spare engine. I suddenly remembered that I have one too, sitting in my garage.

when it comes to being different, I wouldn't worry about it when it comes to the engine, they've all been done. What you do with the rest of the car is what will set it apart.

whats wrong with mitsu's? besides the trannies of course. i think its kind of silly to do a whole lot of extra work and sacrafice things just to be "different". thats just my opinion.

i missed a good conversation but oh well.. i fell asleep early. Alisha, if you are looking for a good alternative to the ever growing KA-T population, the RB20 has some "brothers" in which you can increase the motors capacity. It's what im doing, im going RB2.4 though. they also have RB2.2, RB2.3( if u need a rundown on these, just ask)... the stock RB25 compression ratio isnt all that great compared to the RB20 and 26.. the compression ratio on the R33 RB25's( not the Neo motors) are about 9.0 to 1 or higher. the swap is pretty straight forward along with the 20-24 - 25.

Rims and Things are having some sales on their RB motor sets/clips as well.

the GS-T is a little bit quicker stock for some odd reason. AWD cars always have been a bit heavy. i guess when you have more differentials than any RWD car, you cant help but to be heavy :-p.

Yea well actually am looking into getting rid of the 14 and buying a 13. The only hard this is convincing a girl who doesnt know anything about cars to pick a 240 over a Eclipse. And still though, 240's have some trouble of there own. Now if i did have a choice in this i'd definately get a 240. Who knows....girls

Stick with an engine you like, don't try to be different, there is hardly anything that is different in the 240 world now.

jdmenthused- thanks for the info on the RB. Like I said I don't have the money to throw into my motor at the moment, so I have the luxury of being undecided.
scs13 wrote:whats wrong with mitsu's? besides the trannies of course..
I don't know, really. Its the impression I get from other peoples opinions, looking at how well older ones have held up, resale value, and just looking at the materials used under the hood and on the interior. They just seem junky to me. I have never seen a Galant that is more than a few years old that is not blowing black smoke out the tailpipe.

Thats just my opinion though, I could be totally wrong, I just think any japanese car would be better in the long run.

... having said that, I won't deny that the Evo is just plain badass or that there are some dam fast dsm's out there.

yeah, their really only drawback is the only motor( to me) that actually has some potential is the 4GT.. thats what powers all the 8 second 1g's anyway. and the evo.. all 10 of them

Really? that's news to me I've never seen one run faster than 13s. Seems like Mitu started out good and every gen after the first one just got worse and worse. haha, and that's coming from someone who owned a 2nd and as you can see drove the hell out of it. it did seem to have a lot of quality problems, stuff you kinda learn to live with i guess. I personaly didn't have any transmission problems (didn't own the car that long) but my buddy's 2nd gen experienced crank walk 4 times!!!

i agree, the 1g's and 2g's are way better than 3g's and especially the 4g's. they should have never stopped with the awd 4cyl turbo's, nothing beats those. isnt the fastest awd drag car in the world a talon?

Yea the 3g's dont have any room at all...It's like the backseat of a s14 only being the front seat of the 3g

the fastest allwheeldrive car in the world is a 7.6sec Skyline. http://www.exvitermini.comps - go to the record section up at the top.

its really weird nobody that i know has any idea what it could really be. when i rev it over above 2700-3000 rpms it makes this really weird loud noise, i cant really explain the noise. ill have to post a video next time i start it up. there was oil everywhere mostly on the intake side and covering everything. i checked the oil this morning and it was fine and all i took it really easy this morning. idk if its the clutch or the transmission or anything. anybody have any ideas?? it really fvckin sucks though, i just got the car back and its already messed up. hopefully ill have somebody look at it tomorrow though.
