i went to a few shops and called a few today doing some homework on a sr20det swap. i found a place in raliegh that i can get teh motor for 1800, but no transmission, ecu, just the motor. i don't remember the name of it though. anyone in nc that did a sr20 swap know of any good local shops that imports motors?

There's a Sponor on here called Zerolift that sells the Blacktop SR at i believe $1900. Not quite sure. Check in with them. It may be cheaper to just do that with the entire swap rather then buy the one from NC and have to get a SR transmission (which i've seen go for around $200) and then also a ECU.

theres a couple people that can, but they'll charge you an outrageous amount for it, your better off getting it through an online distributor, esp. one that are on NICO, check the advertiser's page. cruise around, search archived content to find where people bought their motors, you'll find real quick where to go and where not to

Check Jarco it is easier to call them because the only parts they have listed are for half-cuts they are in Georgia.

Does anyone know a shop around here that would be able to do an RB swap? I would rather just ask questions here because if you ask the wrong kind of question instead of people asking what I mean. I get ****ing flamed. Fing Bastards.

well of course, but i dunno if its his first swap, rb is kind of trickey, it can be done.

the kid im talking about, austin, his HG popped a day after he got it back, he called them, they said give them till the end of the week, came down, picked up the car, took it back with them, fixed it..drove down to columbia after that weekend, delivered it back into his driveway, and gave him a 3 run dyno tune..in and out over a week. excellent by my books

the 1g is enough for the insurance for my tastes, ya know

It is going to be my first swap with a turbo-charged engine I have done other ones but not really sure how things will go with this.

hey Jordan. You have any idea on how much power i'd be looking at with a rebuilt KA and a ported head. By that i mean New Pistons, Valves, Valve Springs, Lifters, Cams and maybe new Rods?

Im thinking maybe in the 170-185hp range? Was just wondering because that would be the route i'd love to take.

sr swaps are cake. just straight bolt in and a tiny bith of wiring. since you have a chuki it makes it that much easier.

pat - idk about that goal with that stuff done. pdm racing made 177whp 182tq with just i/h/e 104 octane tune. i would love to be making that much, and i should be but im not. with a s14 motor with s13 cams, removed emissions - egr, pair, secondary butterflies etc, intake, high flow cat, exh, and im sure a few other little things i only made 130whp 140tq. i should have made that stock so idk whats up.

after i turbo my car i plan on buildin an n/a ka. s14 ka with ka24e pistons 10.5-11.5:1 comp, pdm cams, i/h/e, itb's etc and everything ive got done to my motor now.

but i would say if you are shooting for around 200whp i would put a lil t25, 370s etc on your ka, for under 1g and it should be pretty reliable. that is unless you are dead set on n/a.

I was just wondering thats all. I just had that idea for awhile. Maybe later on down the road because the head work will already set me back a good ways that i could put towards a T28, 550's and what not. I'll just have to shop around for another cheap KA. I have a feeling this one is shot as in needing new piston rings.

If i would go turbo, it would definately be on the KA because im not much of a person to save money so i'd just piece together a turbo kit with a paycheck each week.

Anyways, i drove the 240 for the first time in about 2 weeks and WOW, i missed that thing. I put in $15 in the tank and just drove around town for 2 hours.
