ClubSX wrote:wes i would so buy your hatch. i know theres a few problems like the hood, tires, the hatch has the holes from the spoiler and the subframe bushings. all i want is the car to be driveable and smooth. you said awhile ago it needs new tie rods. what happened to that? cuz last time you drove me in it, it was totaly out of control and all over the road.
the tie rods were replaced with oem units, its just the subframe bushings are saggy and need to be replaced should be more than 150( for aluminum units that u wont ever have to replace) and the tires.

whats your opinion right now wes, keep the transmission until the summer and swap in the turbo and 5spd or just sell the transmission and buy a new one in the summer?

I emailed a guy a few months ago at Tophat asking questions about their stuff, and he told me they sell a rebuilt 5spd trans for $600 with a year warranty, so if you could get anywhere close to that by selling yours then you're getting good money. That seems like a good deal to me.

yeah, if you're getting good money for it. honestly I would sell as little as possible off that s14 cause you could still make it awesome later and I'd bet you any amount of money you will want to. Don't sell anything for any less than you would have to buy it back for later

btw on the classifieds right now there's 2 sets of headlights 97-98 and 95-96 for $200-$225. just in case you change your mind.

I'm about to cry. there's an awesome deal on an SR20 with a turbo upgrade and an apexi n1 exhaust on there in ATL for $2000. Talk about bad timing. If I had any way to get that I would so jump on it.

such a confusing matter.. keep the transmission case and everything for right now. and in the summer buy new internals for it and rebuild it.

awesome solution, you get the best of both worlds, its inexpensive and easy.

best solution, cant be beat for the money and time.

he is looking at trying to buy an 87 conquest tsi right now, 54k on rebuilt engine and 100k+ on the body, guy says the body only has a little ding on it, 15g turbo, 1900 obo. and a guy is wanting to buy his 89 accord possibly, but he would still need to find a place to get a loan for 1000-1500. anybody know the best option for that?

I like those Conquests, and they're usually really cheap. I have no idea what the aftermarket has for them, I would guess nothing if I had to bet. He could go to a loan shark like citifinancial, or if your parents have a car laying around that is newer that they would be willing to put up as collateral. Other than that it's damn near impossible to get a loan on an older car.
