New to the Forum and New Owner of 2008 M35X. My Navigation looks pretty dated and I was curious if I got it updated at the factory would it change the looks of it too or just add the new updated roads?

Welcome to NICO! We have an incredible SEARCH feature on this forum.

Adding Aftermarkert Nav to 2003 Infiniti M45
Nav Disk Update 2016
Latest Navigation Disc $79.00!
HELP-INFINITI stops Navigation MAP updates-some models

The look of the map display most likely won't change as it's an older system and wouldn't be cost effective to revamp it.

Thanks for the reply. Is there any known aftermarket screens to replace it or newer ones that will plug and play. Not really so much for the navigation but just overall look to give the interior a newer look. I found the hack to add the auxillary output and the bypass for the break switch to run a DVD while in drive.

You would need to have a custom fab job done to get an aftermarket navigation unit/radio such as Kenwood or Pioneer in there. There was someone who did it I believe floating around the forum and it wasn't cheap.

The entire A/V system is VERY tied together in this car...cant just replace screens on these cars like you can replace radios in other older cars (I used to rock a Kenwood DNX8120 in my 99 Maxima...man that unit was slick).

It's honestly not worth it. Update the maps to get the new roads...but get used to the system otherwise lol :gapteeth:

I have the latest version (2015) and it cost $79. You get an activation code that you take to the dealer, and they load it to your car's hard drive for $90 fee.
It doesn't change the looks dramatically, I don't think the system looks dated. Dunno why so many other people do. I think it looks just fine and it works very fast.
EG: I live in FL and had to drive to a small town in PA. I used the touch screen to enter the zip code, then by the time I had the street half-entered ... BAM the exact address showed up and the lady in the glove box was ready to go in less than 2 minutes. Turns out she was spot on and even warned me about traffic info along the way.
If I was single, I'd give her a go, LOL.
