Nope. Just making it clear. Call it a preemptive strike. :)

Here a response I got from a friend, thought I would share.
'The huge majority of NASCAR drivers, employers, and fans are republican. I don't know about the other drivers, but I know Tony used to have a full schedule 7am to 9pm Mon -Thurs where he was committed by his sponsor and his charitable foundation to be in certain places at certain times for commercial filming, TV spots, TV & radio interviews, store visits, presentations, etc. Then Friday-Sunday was either testing, practicing, qualifying, or racing. And this even applied to the off-season. The only day wasn't working was Christmas Day. I would have to imagine with owning his own team now, that schedule is even worse. So, it could very well be a schedule conflict. If your sponsor who is keeping your team running says they won't or can't reschedule the planned filming of a commercial, do you say no and risk losing the sponsorship? That'd be a hard decision...probably more so if you own your own team.'

Two, it's not illegal to be racist. That's a right. Don't like it? Move somewhere that has "thought police". I recommend Venezuela, China, N. Korea or anywhere in the middle east.
To say that is quite naive at best.

I do agree that anyone tossing "racism" in regards to why some drivers couldn't make it to the white house is an absurd claim. But I agree that people who claim an overt racism among the fans have at least a smidgen of truth. If you feel like spitting on someone, pouring beer on someone, and insulting someone with words, I think less intelligent is something to describe such actions, but race baiting is not one of them. Again this has nothing to do with some driver's having a scheduling conflict

I'd call it bigotry, with a dash of stupid, not racism.

To be fair I think I would feel the same sortof thing if I attended a P-Diddy concert, recital, or whatever its called.

It's not naivete at all. You'll see that at a concert, a WWE event, a baseball game, a high school football game, a desert party, a fraternity rush, a river rafting run, a bachelor party, and maybe even girl scout camp.

The TRUE naivete lies within the nincompoops who think most Americans even perceive the POTUS as black or white. We're past that. They're race-baiting, and I'm starting to suspect it stems from some unresolved feelings of discomfort with their OWN perceptions of race. You know what they say about those who point fingers...

Hell, we've seen it here in our own forums. The one guy prancing around accusing others of being a racist is also the only one posting up racially-offensive jokes.

If they said it's a scheduling conflict, who are we to disbelieve? Hell, I don't know that *I* could carve out time to go visit the WH, and I don't own a race team.

I've always just assumed that I'm always welcome there for lunch, and yet I haven't gone yet. I envision it to be like wedding cake. Sure it looks good and high class, but it probably tastes like s***.

I guess we could all head over there with pizza and beer. Oh wait, Michelle would get pissed and he's probably whipped so we will have to take our feet of the desk and use coasters and s***.
