The fab guy at my garage is tubbing and S14 right now. Yours came out great from what I can see, I love custom metal work, very cool. We have another drive coming up next month and a dinner meet too, hopefully you can make it out! I'd love to see those updates in person, keep it up.

I spot welded every seam on the car to be completely honest. And those i havent gotten to i plan to as soon as i have more free time. How did the meet go? i wanted to make it but my gf's cousins just flew in from florida so i was stuck with them. Did you by any chance check to see if your friend had any oil squirters?

I do believe all the pictures are taken at his work folks.

So I completly failed on getting back to you about the squirters man, my bad. Turns out we had none kicking around, I'm sure you're aware of this now but just be very careful with the rods when you put it back together as them moving around is usually what breaks the squirters when assembling it. So I have been informed by the SR magician here.

thanks anyway dan, i guess ill just have to go and buy some. I am 100% positive that i didnt break them putting the rods in, For some reason when the piston goes down, the skirt hits the squirters. no idea wtf is going on. And ya....all the pictures are not taken at work well...cuz im an accountant. They are all taken at my dads house/2000sq. ft. barn that i took over! woohoo for that.

Unfortunately i am not rich. lol. The bug, mach 1, and lotus are one of my friends, and the m3 is another....However, i have the volvo..and now they new addition to the family as of this past weekend..............a 2000 yamaha r6 race bike turned street/stunna

Anywho, the funds are comin in soon, and the car really only has a few loose ends that need to be tied up, although it seems rediculously far away.

Hmm, any updates man? Ever find out why the skirt is hitting it? There should be a groove in it to clear the squirter, maybe on backwards? I know that sounds silly and I'm sure you've checked but sometimes things get overlooked.

definitely digging this meticulous build

also you ever been to dsg? i come up to MA (i know you're not from there) at least once a year and visit my friends and we usually take a trip there and check out what they've currently got going on in the garage

their MA street legal time attack evo 2 is so sick. passes emissions and everything. then of course that disgustingly fast time attack 240...

The next update will be...........NOW!!!!!

Ive been super busy with getting things together with school and work, and just bought a ring for the woman. Anywho... it started out with a picture that i found somewhere online... and that led me to do this........ With that out of the way, i moved on to fabricating this up. Meet my new MID-MOUNT setup.

Only half of it is there, i have all the brackets fabbed up but i cant actually mount the second half of it until i actually have my intercooler and im still looking some specs up/sizes up. Anywho...this is the picture that started it all, and what ultimately the front will look like exactly. Now i've have seen a recent post on midmount setups (i had already started this prior) and have read all the people freaking out about overheating problems and heatsoak. First off, i cannot come close to even imagining that happening with a Koyo and dual electric FAL fans. Secondly, as far as the intercooler not being open to air. I already have all the aluminum that will but fabricated as ducting from the bumper to the intercooler. And lastly...my intercooler now has half the piping of yours...thus making the 2871r .86 spool like a t25 . Enjoy, pics of the completed cage in a week hopefully.....I still havent had time to look over my motor/oil squirter problem. Enjoy.

P.S....i should have some time next week to upload some pics and video of me taking all the sound deadener out. Yes, you might be thinking why would i want to see or watch that....well, how about because i didnt use a heat gun, i didnt use dry ice, i used LIQUID NITROGEN! This stuff works insane. You literally pour it on it for 15 seconds, tap it with a ball peen and the whole thing shatters with no left over residue...well i guess at -430F degrees it should do that....

That's freakin cool. Love that style, almost the same style as my car, this is the one in the garage right now. Makes for much easier time pulling the engine etc, will have a v-mount but other then that tubbed fenders and similar bolt-in front support, very cool man, keep it up. Congrats on the engagement!

Agreed, I'd like to see the once half-arsed hatch from my barn in person now that is has been resucitated.

My friend put the S14 together, he definitely does quality work.

So i just bought this front bumper tonight...Any ideas on an agressive side and rear to match?

Im hoping to still go with the bn sports rear and sides???

I also bought the paint im using tonight (medium grey) for the engine bay and interior floor. And i also had some House of Kolor Takata Green match mixed up for the roll cage. I need to lay one more coat of primer down and ill take some pics once i spray.

the simpler the skirts the better.

I would choose version select type 2 for the sides.

awesome build, im thrilled to find it.

with your mid mount setup you can now have two push fans in front, and two pull from behind. and an oil cooler somewhere in there; with good ducting it will be cooler the most front mounts setups.

also why did you ( and many fabricators ) extend the wheels well like that? whats the advantage.

Wow, good call on the version select side skirts? the rear as well? I wont be having any push fans. I have stainless ducting (more like a scoop) from the center inlet on the bumper to the front frame. I cant really explain it but will take some pictures this weekend (i always seem to say that and never do...but i will try!)

As far as oil cooler, i will be running it most likely right behind where my friend mounted his license plate. Tubbing the wheel wells is for added clearance when running a large wheel up front. Without doing this, you can not hit full lock in the steering because the tire will hit the wheel well. For example... i am looking soooo hard right now to find a set of wheels. I will be running 18x10 (f) 18x11 (r).

thanks man!

I can finally begin working on this thing again. I have had soooo many stupid projects delaying me. I bought a 93 hatch for parts for 50 simply so i could get the power steering lines. And because im cheap i spent a week ripping the whole motor apart (which was fine) so i could get all the aluminum for scrap. And now this week i have to junk the shell, blah blah blah. Speaking of which, if anyone in NH wants the shell they can have it, its near completely stripped, but with a ton of ambition could be spared?

Man, I could have got the PS lines for you for a very good price, you know I do sell new HP lines. Glad to see it's still getting worked on, maybe you can make it out to some of the events next Spring with us!

ya, well i just needed the reservoir and the cluster, and the throttle cable. So i would still like to buy those lines off of you. Would you consider a trade for a ka24de block and head?

Quite possibly, you need the HP line from pump to rack, what else do you need?

thats all i need, just the pump to rack. I have a block, rods and pistons, and head with all th valve springs (all still assembled) There was nothing wrong with it at all, it just came with a parts car and i have no use for it.
