omg....i think i did....

update....well hmm...i ordered a set of cosworth race bearings....and they havent come in yet. Which is gay, because i cant do anything else until they come in. Other than that, i am trying to decide which color to paint my valve cover. Im leaning towards the Lotus pearl orange (same color as the elise on page 1) or....idk...that the only color so far. Any ideas?

We do powder coating at our shop in bow if your interested. Email [email protected] Also, if your bearings fall through we can get you some as well. Check out our online parts store. http://ballisticmotorsportsllc....aspx And if your skeptical ask DJButton, he'll vouch for us!

Ya thanks anyway on the bearings and powdercoating. IMO its not worth powdercoating because it never gets hot enough. As far as the bearings, I am co-owner of Inertia Factory, and therefore get all my parts at cost. Thanks anyway, you guys run a nice shop out there, i have heard many good things about you guys.

Very cool dude! We're having our first drive in Portsmouth/Seacoast on Saturday the 28th of June, so if it's back together you should definitely roll out!

So here is the summary of last weekend....I started by cleaning all the pistons, and putting the new piston rings on..Then i put in all the new race bearings. I like the design much more than oem. Notice all the oil holes versus just 1 like the oem ones. Then i put in the pistons, the crank, and the oil baffle. After that i got bored w/ the motor and went to see a friends roll cage to get some dimensions for mine. Anyway, before i ripped apart the interior i figured id take some pictures. My gf has nice stuff and she hated riding in my car because of my nappy metal floors. So i went to good ole home depot and got some indoor outdoor carpet (the stuff used on sunrooms, boats, and docks) and cut it to fit. Its super lightweight, can get wet, and adds a lot IMO. excuse the crap on the floor. So then i seam welded the front rails, except i ran out of gas for the welder and it came out kinda crappy, but w/e. I just hit it w/ the grinder. After that, i decided to gut the whole car considering the cage should be here in a few weeks. So i ripped everything out except the steering column. And then i ripped out every piece of wire in the car (must be 100lbs of harness no joke) and started going through it and ripping out all the wire i dont need (extremely arduous, ie. hvac, seatbelt, stereo) Oh yes...you can also see the hammer and lovely mac pry bars used to CHIP AWAY AT THE SOUND DEADENER.GRRRRRRRRRAfter having enough of that i started to spot weld the inside of the chassis. Not bad for 1 weekend. More to come next weekend....Enjoy

Im not sure if im gonna run at star or not. Its kinda gay goin around in circles. I liked it better when it was at beach ridge. And im not really feelin how they arent allowing spectators. My car wont be done this season most likely. And i find it kinda gay that i cant go and watch some drifting even though it goes on all the time 20min from my house. Maybe its just me...

So...I was over at the shop the other night, so i figured i would slap the head on. So i did. Here is the Cometic 1.1mm multi layer head gasket, I have heard many mixed reviews, but oh well. Then here is the head on the block all nice and clean. So then i looked down at the floor, and i noticed something familiar.....a piece of an oil squirter. I was hoping it was the one i had already replaced. However, after flipping the motor over and grabbing a flashlight....i managed to have broken 3 if not all 4 of the oil squirters!!!!!! wtf......i am pretty upset about this. So if you have some....let me know. And for all those who care, here is the valve cover color i went with......BMW Laguna Seca Blue!

Prepare for the front getting tubbed this weekend...pics to come

That sucks with the oil squirters. You need 3 of them? I'll check with my neighbor he might have 3 kicking around or 4.

Bummer bro, hopefully nothing else got broken, damaged or mangled. So do you have any sort of ETA as to when you'll be driving the car? Think you can make our meet/drive on the 28th this month?

Out with the old.....

In with the new. All Energy Suspension bushings w/ solid aluminum subframe bushings. All underbody rust has been sanded off, painted w/ POR 15, and coated w/ undercoating.

Thats another project done. Oh yes, keep tabs on this thread and be prepared to see some crazy front end fabrication mods. thats all for now folks

Hey man I was just wondering which areas you welded on the interior. I am in the process of re-welding some of the seams that have semi rusted out but are there any areas where you could add welds to increase the rigidity?
