Well, I had to car for a lil over 2 years now. Completely stock. Ran great!!! Until it overheated one day... Turned out to be leaking radiator, right around the top inlet. While draining, found oil in the coolant. Long story short, ended up rebuilding the whole top end to factory. Took me about a year to rebuild it cuz of financial issues or other problems. BUT its back together now and stronger than ever.

So the next step >>

Sad to say, but these are the only pics i have of the car.

Let's see.. What else.. Deleted that clutch dampening box. Brakes, calipers, rotors n goodridge ss lines all the way around. Rear lines aren't on yet.. < stupid nut rusted> gotta get new hard lines for the rear. All new bushings n suspension up front( rack bushing, lower arms, tension rods, inner n outer tierods, sway bar bushings).. Ordered bunch of stuff, I'll update once they're here..

Nice, anything for the rear suspension? You should post more pics of the car, it looks very clean.

Thanks but car is really not that clean. Just a bad pic. Check the link up top, that's when I first got it two years ago.. The outside is pretty much the same. I'm not really worried bout how it looks right now. Just trying to keep it running strong for now and make it handle like no other. Nothing is done to the rear YET. I'm not sure what I want to go with. Thinking Isis arms ( cheap n pretty good reviews from what I read ) also looking at nismo arms.. Being in a dealership for three years. ( not much compare to some of you ) I rather prefer oem parts when possible..

I know I need more pics. I just work all the time. Don't have time to even drive it as much as I would like.. I'll do what I can..

Oh, well its a nice pic non the less lol. Do what you gotta do as far as suspension, a lot of people will probably start bashing you for using ISIS products. Especially suspension components, but don't listen to them, to each his own. I re-did my ENTIRE suspension from control arms to spindle bushings. At the rear I went with Peak Performance rucas, Stance toe rods, and kept the oem traction rods fitted with Energy Suspension bushings. Needless to say, my suspension is impecable lol. I did get Nismo tension rods up front.

Your suspension setup sounds awesome!! I'm sure it rides just as nice. My original plan with the rear is to do everything energy suspension bushing, keep my stock arms, just go rucas. My big thing about the bushings, I didn't really know how to get the old ones out. Burn them out? Possible to pressed them out? I don't work at the shop any more, so i don't have access to tools like that. I rather do my own work than pay someone to do it for me. Part of the learning process. The reason i want to buy arms, so i can avoid all that. But then still have the bushings in the knuckle. Decisions.. decisions... What do you suggest?

Yes burn them out, and then cut the sleeve down the middle and with a chisel and hammer punch it out. Im a tech so I the air hammer made quick work of them. You can press them out but I personally think its more difficult. The steering knukle bushings are probably the hardest, I got z32 aluminum spindles for the 5 lug conversion. I managed to install them with a vice, and then just push the lip that overlaps with a flathead screwdriver.. I suggest buying aftermarket rucas and toe rods....

Looks more "stock" or OEM then the Cannons kids put on there cars. It sounds amazing and looks the same. There's really no reason not to get one. I was more then happy with mine. I should of kept the exhaust before i sold the car :chuckle:

And OP, Nice work! i hate putting trans and its COVERED in gear/and or engine oil. Looks great.

I just happen to dislike a dual tip exhaust on any car actually. I don't get harassed by cops where I live, so there's no reason to try and conceal my huge 4" cannon that sounds gorgeous. Especially with the cams I got ;-)

Op, sorry no means of threadjacking. 2 way huh? Ive always wanted a Kaaz 1.5 though, I don't intend in drifting and they can be quite loud!!

Hookedon240, thanks for kind words..

Kaaz actually has new "Super Q" model of their LSDs. Suppose to be quietier, no break-in, and longer maintenance service. Haven't really seen many ppls use the "super q". So I guess I'll give it a try. I'm trying to build a grip car. I think 2 way will be good for that as well as drifting. My car should be back together sometime next week. I will let you know how it is..

Awesome, making good progress at a good pace. I'm sure it will give you the best of both worlds. Yes for sure let us know how that puppy locks!

I'm still looking for a s15 helical. I want to grip, but for some spirited driving only. Good luck!!

So I was cleaning the garage a little bit, and found this >>>

Don't remember that i had this.
I know it a 300zx ebrake assembly. But I don't know which model it came from. Does it matter when trying to do rear swap on a s13? Would anyone be able to tell?

Nvm, did some research, pretty sure the lines are the 2+2 lines according to the pic I got from frsport. Should bolt right up to the s13. The ebrake assembly shouldn't matter when doing the 5 lug as long as I get the right hubs. Most likely be aftermarket hubs anyways.. Correct me if I'm wrong.

I have this same setup for my 5 lug conversion. If the backing plate assembly came off a na z32 they will work. TT z32 is no bueno since the hubs have more spines for the axles....

I think I got 2 seater e brake cables, I ended up making some L brackets to mount them in the original position. The ones you have 2+2, should mount right up with some flat pieces of thick sheet metal, also in the original positions. Hope this helps. BTW: somebody made a install thread in which they made those "mounts" and sold them complete with hardware. Not sure if that's still going on.

Ok, So I finally got the car back together today. Trans along with new oem clutch, driveshaft shop steel driveshaft, and the diff with the Kaaz Super Q 2way lsd. Drove about 50miles round trip to pick up a rear bumper for 5 bucks. Paint's faded but overall better condition than the one on my car.

Impression on the driveshaft>>>
Same as oem, no major difference.
No excessive noise that i could hear.
Only thing (might be in my head) feels a tad bit more responsive when getting on throttle.

Impressions about the lsd>>
Super Q model, no break-in required
Pretty quiet as i have full interior (hatch) My motor is much much louder. (Bone Stock)
Tire scrubs at VERY tight turns. 90* intersections hardly noticeable.
lock up is very smooth
Rear-end feels more stable when cornering. I love how it straightens the car when exiting.
NO IDEA about drifting yet...

Thats all that comes to mind right now. Its been a long day. Lmk if you have any other questions.

Kool man, from the ds most like you will feel some response since you don't have that rubber flex cushion. Did you replace the subframe bushings? Nice LSD, I should start saving some pennies for one :-(

Bled the clutch today. Pedal still seems very soft. And yes that damper thingy is gone. Brand new exedy oem clutch, slave with ss line. Still stock clutch master. Not leaking so didn't feel the need to replace it just yet. Mayb I'm expecting too much from the oem clutch.

I think I mention before, the front end is all done with OEM replacements.

The rear end is stock. Everything from bushings to arms, all stock. No subframe bushing either. Im using my stock r200 pumpkin. No diff bushings. The have the es bushing kit but I'll probably wait til I get arms. I started to piece together my 5 lug swap. So I might do everything at once. Just drop the subframe along with suspension n work from there. Well that's the plan anyways... We'll see what happens..

Piece of the puzzle

More puzzle pieces.

Replaced the exhaust bracket due to rust. Went ahead and dropped the exhaust.

Brm exhaust is in. Leaking pretty bad though. I'll fix it another day. First start up, cold start, nice deep tone. Noticeably louder than stock. haven't driven on it yet. I have a feeling its gonna be louder than what I wanted. But its ok if it sounds good.
