Hey peoples. I'm new to the 240 scene. I just purchased a 93 240sx SE with 160k, all stock. Interior is pretty clean, no cracked dash, jsut some carpet stains. So far the chassis appears to be rust free, but has minor scratches and dents here and there. Mechanically its in decent shape, but its misfiring and needs brake pads all around. I plan on doing your basic tune up, and get it to run smoothly again before anything else.

the car:the interior:the bad the newest mod

otherwise car is 100% stock.

hope you enjoy.

Welcome to NICO. Sounds like you got the right idea of doing a basic tuneup before doing anything crazy like doing a motor swap without any other supporting mods. Good luck on your future build.

i've been busy trying to get the car to run right. i'll get pics up as soon as i can.

i had to get a fuel injetor, and its still not running right. it seems that the car would sputter at all rpm ranges. cylinder 2,3,4 are ok, but #1 is still misfiring. its gets fuel and spark, but its not firing steady. i'm lost.

any help would be appreciated, thanks.

If you car is still sputtering this is what you do to check a misfire, you need to while car is running pull injectors. Like pull number one and so on and if it runs the exact same when you pull like for example injector 3 then thats the one that misfiring. Thats why when you pull it didn't run anyworse because it's not even working to begin with..

So if you pull each one and they all make it run worse then replace plugs and wires and cap and rotor. To get all you ignition in tip top shape. Because all your injectors are working to correct specs.

You only need three things to run fuel air and spark. If your injectors are good then it's your spark.. Also while car is running spray down you vacuum lines the ones running of the intake manifold with water, if idle goes up then you have vacuum leak. Do you have any dash lights that are on?? PM me if you have any other problems in future.

So hope that fixes is it.

I didn't realize you already zoned it down to cylinder one, hmm it's gotta be spark if you have fuel like you said, and vacuum lines won't make it run that bad just idle crappy. Clean off your maf as well just for good measure.

Also why you at it get the aiv plug it gets rid of that crappy black box and vacuum lines that go to your exhaust if you want i can get you the exact part number you need to get it.. It's only like 10 bucks oem..

thanks for you help. the problem is fixed. it was a bad o-ring on the injector. replaced the o-ring, car runs strong now.

One is because even port and polished to the max the ka24de is still a poor flowing head, also it's easy boost from sr20det no need to do a build up.

Your hatch reminds me of my coupe, that from a distance it looks really clean but once you get a better look at it you can see all the small imperfections.
