Mysterious Harness and Connector

Do you know what this harness is for? It is right now coiled behind the rear seats, over the child seat anchor beam.

In 2011, the Rogue SL has BOSE and its woofer inside the spare tire. If you are right, it means I have the harness for the BOSE woofer? wow. So in theory, if I change the head unit and find a woofer, I will have a BOSE system?

I doubt it. The Bose HU sends a balanced signal to the rear amp, and there's an additional amp for the sub. Check for an amp under your rear seats.

Qashqai - LOL. Good to know! Well....in theory and that is presuming that the harness is for the sub-woofer. However, you wouldn't have a complete BOSE audio system and this is assuming your Rogue is a base model:

i) No tweeters
ii) No center dash speaker
iii) No Bose audio speakers
*You will also need to put in a fuse (15 amp, I believe) in the interior fuse tray right above your hood opener (driver's side).

Rogue One & Qashqai - It's quite convincing that this is the harness for the sub-woofer, although, I may be wrong....but check this out:

If the harness is indeed not for the sub-woofer, then it may be for a trailer hitch (if AWD), the back-up camera/around-view monitor and/or auxiliary harness for any future mods.

i think i have to agree, that this might be to do with something for the subwoofer which sits in your spare tire

Very well may be. I know our base Lancers have the subwoofer pigtail just sitting there. Most cars tend to leave extra wiring.

Judging from this image from the FSM, this is not the wiring for the sub. I suppose I'll have to get ambitious and pull mine open for a look. Maybe even take some pictures.

Under the right side trim piece (where it touches the child seat anchor frame) I currently have an upside down box. You can see that box on the picture here (in the sparetire area)

In models with BOSE, that is the place of the amplifier. That is why in RogueOne's picture from FSM, the wire to the Sub is coming from there.

I am not an audio guy, but can it be the wires that come to the amplifier? An input for the amplifier to be amplified? Does it mean I can install an amplifier and a woofer???
