im pretty sure the corvette floor boards are not wood at all.... especially the z06.

and if you are refering to the c6 z06 most of the car including the floorboards is CF

Yes, the Z06 uses carbon fiber with a balsa wood core. The core adds rigidity and separates the layers of carbon fiber. Like any cloth carbon fiber is strong under tension loads but drapes and bends. When cloth is separated by a core for one layer to bend the other layer is put under tension, think about flexing a phone book when the pages are held together or a thick piece of rope.

Wood is basically a composite like fiberglass, its uses cellulose fibers instead of glass fibers and hemicellulose and lignin as the matrix instead of polyester/epoxy resin.
