I appreciate the heads up, but I don't want to run AL rods. The longevity just isn't where I'd like it to be.defrag010 wrote:Superhatch: If you are ready to buy rods now, there is a set of 5.565" small journal aluminum rods that would only require your crank journal to be turned down a few thousandths and the rod to be narrowed a little bit with a belt sander, otherwise 100% drop-in with the use of stock bore chevy 305 forged pistons.
Wow! something is actually cheaper over here?! Dont know about the UK, but most (if not all) stuff is cheaper there, even using our money.I'd like to back up what mettler said about Brian Hartley from down in my old playground. He's been working with heads and engines all his life. He isnt cheap (usually), so this is great news with some good priced cams. In fact I know his cam-grinder:) and he is one of the few real tradesman out there that you can rely on getting a job done properly. I spoke to him today about other things and also a guy at "the Head Shop" where Brian works, who also spoke highly about these engines and the ease of hp. In a country where alot of people dont care about quality of workmanship, these guys are the experienced old school tradesmanJohn Dixon wrote:Wow, that's a great price!!
