i been workin on my interior for a while now and been puttin in a lot of toys. none of it is too outlandish cuz i dont like to waste my money (like that r8 im sure a lot of you have seen) but i still like having plenty of toys so heres what i got so far.

my avic d3 and cb radio (i installed both last week)

got my ipod cable, new gps antenna (better signal), and bluetooth adapter installed yesterday

installed the cb in the useless cubby hole down there. took it out and took off the lid thingy and cut a spot out for the radio and wired it through the wiring for the cig lighter that was in there.

heres my windshield setup. got the whistler detector net to the rear view got the gps in the top left (both wired through the pillar and hardwired by fusebox), and got my ipod harness in the bottom left (within finger reach while my hand is on the wheel)

detector wired thru the ceiling panel

gps also wired thru ceiling panel and pillar

ipod cable running behind the dash to my d3

built a custom box and retrofitted it to be flush with the back seats (with just enough room to flex when needed) got my 2 12" kicker comps back there powered by a Kicker 06ZX450.2.

i wired the amp to a switch so i can turn it on/off when needed (did this before i got the aftermarket head unit that had sub controls)

so tell me what ya think and drop and suggestions for what i should do next...im always tryin to think of new toys to insatall.

You do know you can get a box to hook up your ipod to the back of the D3

true story... i take the ipod out obviously when i get out and i put the gps in the puoch in my seat but still lookin for a good remote start/security system. kinda nervous though since i have never installed one i might be in for a bit of a challenge. but then again i have never installed a head unit or subs or anything and that all has turned out pretty well.

Drill below your CB radio so your cable goes from the deck to your ipod that can sit there.

The D3 can do video, just not video on the ipod. Bypass the unit to use the DVD function.

No, you have an AUX cable. That cable plugs into the back of the unit.

haha no i have that exact cord that plugs into the back of the unit...the aux cord plugged into the front runs to the passenger side pouch so the passenger can play their ipod/music if needed.

You can do the same thing with the CDI cable, just tell the D3 to control the ipod from the ipod and not from the deck and you have the same functionality and no wire sticking out of the front.

ha i dont think you get why the ipod is in the front. and the cord is not in the way and is not too noticeable when in the car. but i have the ipod there so i can access it easily and can watch the video on it while keeping my eyes looking at the road. if i had it in the bottom cubby i would have to look down and get it and defeats the purpose of why i have it mounted where it is.

yepp 15% all the way around... although i have gotten ticketed for them before and the officers tint radar thing said 11.3...so i guess there was a hint of stock tint already or something.

That pic is photoshopped -_-

I like to have everything hidden, just gives a would be thief less of a reason to look around inside.

Look into investing into a Viper, particularly the 5901.

I would be careful installing it yourself. If you have no experience i would have someone do it for you. The keyfab makes it difficult.

im tryin to install everything i can myself just to have the experience and save money but how much does it usually cost to have someone install one of those?

Wow your windshield is sooo busy.I was thinking about getting a CB because my friends have them so it'd be easier for me to communicate with them while driving. But I already have a PA that I need to reinstall. That thing is fun as hell

ha yeah im not gonna lie the main reason i bought the cb is for the pa system which i use a lot more often than i do the cb function. also since i just have a small 8 inch cb antenna i only get a couple miles of range on the cb.

Ya PA's are sooo much fun. Mine was strictly PA no radio and it came with like 100 preset noises. It was wired under the car and into the door to get inside, and I took a turn too sharp one day and it ripped the wire

Just cut and cut and crimp and I'm good as new

Just wondering what is the CB radio for?

well what has already been discussed is that i bought it for the pa system mainly because its fun to play around with. and the cb part is because i travel about 1000 miles a week all over the country for work and when i get stuck in traffic i like being able to communicate with oncoming truckers to see what is holding up traffic and things like that.

Good call on the CB then, Ya my friend's have them on their trucks so when they go off roading, they can communicate to each other if there's any problems up ahead.

Did you drill through the firewall ??? I have LED's up front and then when I reinstall my PA it will be mounted up front (the speaker) but I was nervous about drilling so I didn't do it

Nice, I might just have to give this a try because I have some more lights to hook up in the front. I'm just scared of drilling through something I shouldn't
