yeah i was pretty nervous about cutting that cubby box thing up to fit the cb in there but that was the best place for it and i just figured if i totally screwed it up that i could just go buy a new cubby from nissan... not really the same with firewalls but as long as your careful it shouldnt be a problem.

You inspired me to put a PS3 in my car. While I'm waiting on the turbo stuff to be done, I went out a bought a PS3 Slim... guess what!?!?!? It fits PERFECTLY in the glove box. WIN.

Teaser pic until I wire this up on Tuesday:

you do know that there are two navigation in your car right ?AVIC D3 is navi and you got another tomtom.I use to work in auto audio shop and i have the D3 too.it has a cord from the back and can watch video from ipod.and can i ask you something, what do you use that talking radio for ?are you talking to the cops or the truck driver ?one thing, remember to tint your window as dark as you can, because my car got broke in twice when I have D3, or just park in garage in your house.after market stuff in the car is very very easy to get stolen, now days people are poor and need to steal!!!

yes im aware...i had the gps before i bought the d3 and so i kept it. the ipod cord thing has already been brought up . actually every thing you just wrote has already been talked about. just read up yander ^^^^^^

and yeah i just found out that the reg ps3 wont fit... and i did wire all the cords into the back driverside floor board and then when i went to turn the ps3 on and test it out i found out my inverter is broken so that idea was a major fail.

Powering a regular PS3 is going to be an issue in itself. What wattage inverter do you have? I'm going to try with one I have tonight, cant remember the power output on it though.

to each's own but..how the Fak can you see with all of those gadgets hanging off the windshield. the blinking lights off those things are enough to give someone a focal seizure.

OK, I'm all about brutal honesty... you have wires coming out from behind the stereo going to the AUX input, a 1985 looking CB radio, and three things hanging from your dash... if you ever get into an accident, anyone of those are going directly into your forehead.

To be honest, it looks awful. The purpose of custom is to blend aftermaket things in, not have them sticking out like a sore thumb.

Like you really need another device to be hanging off your windshield...

And the inverter is pulsing because it's not producing enough power to the PS3

maybe im confused but if yer referring to the viper that wouldnt be hanging from my windshield since its a security/remote start system.

and doc im fine with your brutal honesty. i mean we dont have the same taste (i realize when i see your rims) but i have reasons for everything being where it is and since im in my car about 18 hours a week i like having access to these things while driving. blending in would be more practical if i were trying to show my car and make it look good but im just worried about not taking my eyes off the road while using my accessories so that i wont have a wreck and anyone of those things wont go str8 into my forehead.

fair enough, if functionality is what ur going for and it works for you, that's fine... but you posted this visual atrocity online I'm guessing expecting feedback, and I can tell you that not only is having that many devices to try and look at while talking on a CB/PA not safe, but this is most likely the type of feedback ur going to get...

i was more looking for suggestions on what to do next... although im aware the safety issue but its not as bad as it seems. ipod is controlled by the d3. gps is used when stopped and is audible while driving and if i need to look at it its just a glance and radar is audible too so i know when i need to watch my speed. the cb is rarely used unless im stuck in traffic or if my passenger wants to have some fun acting like a trucker (girlfriend thinks its hilareous) and she also uses the pa system to try and scare ppl (my car brings out her inner child).

but on the topic of suggestions. doc since your the king a/v guy around here i blew one of my kickers with the amp i have so i sold the amp today. bought another kicker comp 12 and now looking for the best amp to push them (the most power without worrying about blowing them) . they are 4 ohm 150rms i believe. any suggestions?

PS3 Slim in the car: What is needed?:

1. PS3 Slim.2. A 400W or higher power inverter (I have a 600W one and it only ran me 50 bucks on sale at Canadian Tire.

Now, it does work perfectly fine, I was playing some games etc. but there is something wrong, either it's the inverter that has a lot of electrical noise or it's picking up noise form somewhere else... I'm assuming it's the inverter though...

I know the pic above kinda sucks but do you see the lines going across the screen? It's electrical noise for sure. Audio is crackly as well.

Does anyone know of a good inverter that does not cause this? My battery is relocated to the trunk and the inverter is connected directly to the battery. I have extra grounds as well.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks .

Edit: You will need a TRUE SINE WAVE power inverter. This will eliminate distortions in audio and video. Here's the problem, they cost more...

If anyone can find a 400W to 600W True Sine Wave inverter this would be great.

Thanks!

thats awesome... i got mine working last night as well. since i had went thru the trouble of wiring it all i was determined to get it to work...turns out the best option for me was to run the power cable to an extension cord that is plugged in in my house. no lines and no excess noise. works great

Well that doesn't work when you have a passenger in the front seat that wants to play a game on a long road trip or watch a movie.... *plans on getting headrest monitors*... :P
