My Summer Rims..

Discussion of Infiniti's amazing (and underrated) sport-luxury crossovers, the EX35 and EX37. For 2014, the EX series will be renamed QX50, in line with Ininfiit's new naming conventions.

Here is an updated pictures of my EX35 AWD. I`m more into GO! not for SHOW!

No chrome(except the lugnuts ;-) ), simple, lighter , no bling

bling !

17" on stock tires...A little less girly looking

I`m happy with the 17" it accelerate quicker! The RIMS weigh 17.5 Ibs

each.

Nice, but I think they are a little to dark for the color of car. I would of gone with 19's in that color and model.

Looks ok.

I could have gotten an 18" but I`m more into speed than looks.

the 17" rims is exactly 17.5 Ibs.

Then that is a good thought to keep 17's if you want the speed. Why didn't you go with a lighter color with the rims? It's ok. Its your ride. I just think that rims and color of the car offset each other too much. It does match the tinted windows. No worries. It still looks ok.

I love the gunmetal color and makes the car look a little meaner or should

I say a little less girly. It does look a lot better in person bec. the gunmetal

is not dull grey but kindda looks like a shiny gunmetal. The style might not

be for everyone.

Here`s a pic of the same rims in bronze.

I guess my camera didn`t capture the real color of the rims on my EX.

It`s not really that dark at all. Here`s one pic that captured the real color

of the rims that blends well with the silver.

It`s the EX sexy curves/lines

You know what I mean? It`s like Danica Patrick in a racing suit instead of

the mini skirt.

What counts is that you like them.

Man no offense, but those rims don't look that good on that car. I think it is because of the curves in the rim. The color is ok, but not that great. The rims look so much better on your red Mit. It's all good, as long as you like them. We are here to support one other.

i think the rims are too small. plus these rims seem to make the tires look really big. i think black polished rims would look good. anyone has them?

To be honest I don't think it looks that bad. It colour blends in well with the bottom half of the car. Definitely making the EX less girly and very JDM looking. Good work!!

Hey guys! Thanks for your honest opinions. As I said it before, I didn`t go

for looks. If I went for looks, I would get an 18" with low profile tires.

This is a crossover vehicle, pretty much need a bit height for the tires and

shoudn`t be lowered.

It was very hard to find a decent looking rims that weigh less

than 18 Ibs. Volk racing and those light weight wheels are too expensive

for me-Those are like $700 a piece. This wheel is the closest I can get...

Our stock 17" EX35 rims are lighweight too! With my winter tires and stock

rims, each weighs around 46.5 Ibs. My A-tech wheels with stock EX35 tires

weigh about 45 Ibs each. I have an AWD and I just can`t add more

weight into it.

mcube3:

Yes, This is an A-tech rim - a cheap but known Japanese compycat from JDM MUGEN - Japan (forged rims).

Adding more weight to these cars is bad. I would not do it, especially in an AWD car.

Is there really a big difference in speed between 17 and 20" ?

has nothing to do with size of the rim. it is the weight.

This is under the assumption that you have chosen the right tire sizes to keep the overall diameter the same.

I heavier rim/rubber combo will make it a bit slower in ACCELERATION, but only really noticable in 1st and 2nd gear. As you progress into the other gears it is negligable.

1 or 2 lbs difference in rim/rubber combo is not going to be noticable...5+ and we can see some differences in either direction.

Handling however is a bit different.... 17" for 20" there will be a noticable difference in side wall construction and how the car handles.

there is a difference between 17 and 18" let alone 20"even price wise 20" is double or triple the price of 17" rims and its worth it. yes it is true that 20" will slow you down because it is much more heavier but 20's are for people who like bling bling like me

people like AWGD8 i understand they want performance so 17" is perfect.

but as with all things when you post pics of your car on a car forum you will get the good, the bad, and the ugly comments.

I can show you a variety of 20" rims that weigh next to nothing...however they cost $800USD+ a piece

20" rims and rubber do not have to heavier then the stock 18" or 17" EX35 setup...just depends on budget.

you are def right about that but im just saying generally. and there is a major difference in appearance. i would get 20" if i had a bigger budget for rims.
