Nice kit, the spoiler is a little much for my tastes though. It does definately need paint, lol.

ssconcepts, just cause it has an sr doesn't make it a silvia. I have an sr and kouki tails, does that make my car a 180, no, i just think it looks better.

If it has a VIN number and is registered in the U.S. it's not a silvia, it's a 240sx. Misrepresentation is something ricers do. I'm not calling him a ricer as he's got a clean car but the title of this post will bring a flame or two.

Nice Ride!

also if you want to get really technical about it... its not a silvia.its not a 240 either.

i can call it whichever i want. and honestly, i think it has more silvia parts on it now than usdm 240sx parts anyway. i had to replace a lot because of damage and it was cheaper to buy the jdm parts. after everything is said and done with the car, i have less than 8,000 invested in it period. just a whole lot of my time.

i don't mind negative feedback. if its actually something that matters. not some technicality thats an opinion.

a navan or type x spoiler mates up perfectly. the main difference is that the navan spoiler is a 3piece and the type x is a one piece.

its OBX's turbo back. fits up pretty well, i even have it attached to the exhaust bracket off of the transmission. although it could of lined up better at the rear. i am going to be back under the car in a few days and i am going to do some adjusting got it off ebay for a little over 200.

here is a link 2 it. thats more than i paid though and thats not the same seller.

i will see about getting you a sound clip. i think it sounds pretty nice though.

I wonder if guys in Japan put Ka24's in their silvias, put pop-up headlights on them and call them 240sx's. that would be funny

anyway, I think the car looks sweet, and it's a clean looking build. I personally think if it was designed to be a silvia, than given another name in america it's still an S14 to me

That pink car was a 240sx that Yashio Factory imported from the states. He did an sr swap into it. It is still a 240sx because the s13 and s14 were sold as the 240sx in the states.

Your car is a 240sx. It's a 240sx with an sr swap. My car is a 240sx with an s14 sr motor. It even has "Silvia" badges. But since it was made for the US market so it will always be a 240sx.

It can be called a silvia not a big deal because in japan it's a silvia but just has a different motor for us ones. Now if you try to call it a skyline or put gtr badges then you fo sho will get flame. Everyone like to claim it to be a silvia anyways so it's one against the world, should'nt have never started this flaming.

some or most japanese will call ita u.s silvia from my experience.

Why is the filter all the way down there? Not like it matters if you're trying to get that "cold air" effect. That's just asking for trouble when it rains.

oh man that one made me laugh out loud...The point is made, its a 240. You can take off the front and put on a different one. then its a 240 with the front swapped. You can change the engine too...240 with front end swap and engine swap.

I can put on a frilly white shirt, add a big gold earring, buy a parrot, and wear an eye patch but Im still not a pirate.

You can call you car what ever you want , hell the guys with the Ferrari's built off 240z's do the same thing. It you want to duplicate a car that wasn't available to you that's cool, but it is what it is man.

Your car looks very nice, and it seems you put a lot of your OWN work into it. I like seeing cars that were fixed or built by its owner, insteading of paying someone to do it. Even if I had the money to pay someone I would rather do a lot of stuff myself because I will be more picky about certain things. The bodykit is nice. When you get some nice wheels it will really change the car.

You ladies are wasting screen space with the ranting and raving. He asked "What do you guys think about my [CAR]. You should have said it looks nice, or it looks like a box full of smashed ***holes. Give the man your opinion and shut the **** up. If I put a Supra wing on my car, who cares. It is MINE. If I call my Caddy a Viper, who cares. I still have an 86 Fleetwood on 20" wires and you don't. He has a nice car, and those of you bitching probably have a plain dent magnet like mine.

to those who commented on hydrolock -

i have a snorkle built into the intake that will suck air from the engine bay if water gets into the intake filter.

althought this is based all on theory but one of these days at work i am going to take the intake assembly off and get a measurement of how much vacuum it will take to suck water into my intake even with the snorkle. if it seems like a low number i will just enlarge the snorkle. i also plan to make another "C" bracket that i have everything resting on that is a bit taller.

until then, i am confident that it will be fine. but that doesn't mean that i still won't be careful driving through a puddled.

Nice! got Any pics of that whole set up?how does it determine when water is being sucked up VS. air? I know in rally cars they have a manually operated flap in the intake...

i will take a better pic tonight. basically its just a 1/2" hose attached to a crack case vent filter.

the physics is pretty simple, water has more mass than air. therefore, as long as there is a path for the air to flow, the vacuum from the turbo will pull air from the engine bay before it sucks water out of the intake filter. in the near future i plan to upgrade my maf turbo and injectors and in the process i am going to make a new intake system. i may wind up going with some sort of actuated diverting system.

yeah thats what I was kinda guessing...Are you sure that the 1/2 tube has adiquate flow to lower the the vacume levels at the filter low enough to not suck up some water? even with out hydro lock Im sure some nice cool water would do nasty nasty things to a hot turbine...
