Not a good idea. It can be done... I did it but I regret it now.. just my opinion.Patrick StarFish wrote:also can u give a quick estimate of the basic u need to get dis bad boy up and going. on a school budget.
To be honest, it looks like he just got some screws and screwed it into the plastic of the front bumper. I don't see how there could be any other way of doing it.supersayianjim wrote:and how and what did you use to mount youre license plate to the side of the car?? and are you using hubcentric spacers??
First time shooting with an hvlp gun. New to paint process, thx for the pointers. Gonna go white as soon as i can get my hands on a garage. Make my own paint booth. This was all done outside lol. Just a quick spray to get the car all one color.TwoFourOhh wrote:Did you rattle can the front end? shoulda atleast sanded it with 1200, minimum,to actually get the sand scracthes out. I ve been painting Dupont for bout ten years now, I always go with at;east 1200 on a finishing DA then use a dewalt buffer(1500 rpm give or take) with a wool pad(with 3m perfect-it 3 compound), then use a 3m foam pad with polish after that(lower rpm), then glaze, it helps with swirl marks. especially for black. Love the build and your attention to detail. Thats what makes or breaks nice cars ( or anything in life ), the details. I have a 91 s13 hatch ive been modding. the engine is next. was nice to see how a rb20 can turn out. Im still up in the air with what I want to do. But props! Peace.

Used some small dry wall inserts. Works great. And nope, no hubcentric ring.supersayianjim wrote:and how and what did you use to mount youre license plate to the side of the car?? and are you using hubcentric spacers??

You need the J30 axles since the S13 axles don't have the same diff flange, he says it in this thread when he did it what he needed.Mychal wrote:man i love this build!
on the j30 rear end swap does it swap right in or is there any custom or other parts u need?
(ima quote him from the other thread on the first page called 'cx racing turbo')giantR32typeM wrote:Hey CA18magic, hows the turbo holding up and what kinda power are you making? i've got an r32 skyline with a 20 in it and i'm thinking about buying that turbo. I need something reliable since my r32 is my d.d. Is the turbo truly bolt on or does it require anything else?
Awesome job on the car Magic it looks super nice and classy. Good picture taking too =) I am also curious as to what new wheels will be filling your overfenders? Keep up the good work.CA18Magic wrote:I did my research on this(turbo) as well before my build. A good buddy of mine has had the direct bolt on gt28 for the RB20/RB25 CXracing turbo for going on three years now and is extremely happy. He daily drives it and drifts it at events down in socal. Ive been using mine for about 3 months now and so far im liking it. Power band is great, spool up is quick.
Ive purchased cheap turbos off ebay in the past and just looking at them made me nervous. But the quality is def. different on the cx turbo. I can't put it in the same category as the cheap china ones from my past. Plus the china ones ive used would cost anywhere from 150 bucks to no more than 275. (Threw those into honda kids motors for money back in the day lol) I do plan on eventually upgrading to a top mount setup and a larger turbo. But for the price (i payed around $470) and the direct bolt on w/ no modifications... its a good little turbo. (just checked their website, they are asking $589 for it now)
Thanks for answering this for me. lol, Work has def. been keeping me busy. But yea, here is a link to that thread cx-racing-turbo-t508213.htmlTroubleBound wrote:(ima quote him from the other thread on the first page called 'cx racing turbo')giantR32typeM wrote:Hey CA18magic, hows the turbo holding up and what kinda power are you making? i've got an r32 skyline with a 20 in it and i'm thinking about buying that turbo.
