My review of Cibie headlights

I just picked up my buddy's old 200mm Cibie headlights because he decided to go Silvia... and I must say... I'm GLAD, LOL.

I love these headlights. The cutoff on the lights are spectacular! My old OEM headlights shot light in every direction and seemed like high beams on certain parts of the front of my car.

Also, these headlights came with City Lights... I'm not too possitive what theyre for (I heard its Euro standards), but they're pretty cool none the less.

haha.. Cibie's are the housings... I have no clue what kind of bulb is in it, its just some oem H4 bulb that came with the housings. They aren't one piece like Silvanias.

well, they are made in France (i think)... but I've only seen them being sold on clear corners.

You gotta pay good money to get the good stuff. Since it's an H4 conversion, itll take H4 bulbs. City light is most likely a small bulb.

I don't know if they came with bulbs or not, I doubt it though... ask Ryota

the city lights are these bulbs (remember the lightbulb display at autobacs in the headlight isle, they're the small bulbs)

I'm thinking about picking up a pair of led bulbs tho...

thanks, I think its more along the lines of if one of your headlight bulbs (H4) goes out, you can still be seen by other drivers with your city lights, for safety purposes (so you dont look like a motorcycle from far away).

i got mine from clearcorners about a year ago. but i decided to go the silvia front route so i sold it to him since he had first dibs ever since ive had it. they costed me IIRC $130 for lamps + $65 h4 narva bulbs (it is the bulb that adrian has right now) and i sold it to adrian for super cheap.

btw "feint of heart": just cough up the money and get cibies. they are a lot better than hella e-codes.

I have Eurolite glass housings w/ the city lights wired to my parking lights. They don't even make the housings anymore. Which is a shame because I need the socket that holds the 194 mini bulb replaced, it's cracked and causes the bulb to flicker on and off easily while in sleep eye mode.

The Cibies are sold here, too. I'd rather get them here just out of principle (clearcorners overcharges for nearly everything).

ill order these this winter when my car is parked. i just sold my last light setup and i needed something quick to throw in. i bought some cheap amber housings off ebay . they will get the job done for awhile lol
