I actually like that idea. It'd be cheap and look cool too.

How did you hook up the city lights? I know you used your parking lights, the question is did you just splice the wire to the parking lights, how can you tell which is the blinker wire and which is just the 'on' wires?

I prefer to use Service Manuals to determine which wires do what before aimlessly poking with a test light.

in that situation, it's two wires in which you only have to poke one. so by the time i got up, went inside, loaded up the fsm on the comp, found the right section and determined which was the correct wire, i'd probably be done with the job.

Since I have the headlight diagrams practically memorized, I'd have the job done before you got up, went to your tool box, found your test light, hooked it up, and poked the wires.

I just replaced my headlights with Cibie. This thread inspired me. These H4 lights were out of stock, so I had to wait about 2 months to get them. I bought them from here.

Top is OEM and bottom is Cibie.

Daniel Stern recommended these bulbs. They are AMAZING!!!

Cleaned up and spray painted the housing.

These were cheap, so I bought new retainer rings and screws.

Bulb installed.

This boot that came with the headlight must be installed. OEM boot on the car won't cover it securely.

Cibie with Philips bulb.

Low beam. My other car has projectors and they are not as bright as these. I was blown away. I can't believe how the light spread evenly like this. Cibie is the best!!!

I used $0.99 can of spray paint from Walmart. :-)

sr20drifter1 PMed me, but can't reply because his PM is disabled. YOu don't know how many PMs receive and can't reply because they didn't enable their PM feature. NICO should enable PMs by default or enable it when one sends out a PM for the first time.

Anyway, sr20drifter1, here's the info for you :

Website: http://www.danielsternlighting.com
Email Address: [email protected] (Can be found bottom of above website) or [email protected]
Bulbs: http://store.candlepower.com/90h4hbxtpo.html (Recommended by Daniel Stern)
Cibie Headlights: Cibie H4 headlamps—200mm × 142mm (7.9” × 5.5”) in this Product page http://www.danielsternlighting.com/prod ... ducts.html
I searched and searched, but no one sells cheaper than Daniel Stern.
How to aim after installation: http://www.danielsternlighting.com/tech/aim/aim.html

Hope this helps.

Sorry for the bump, but how long did it take for him to contact you about your order? I emailed him and he still has not responded for the past 2 days. Referring the Daniel Stern lighting.

I have cibies... all gen's of them, and honestly, the proejctor retrofit destroys all.
Image

Cibie Gen II lights, these are what everyone talks about, has the running DRL light, was running H4 HID bulbs.
Image

Cibie Gen I lights, These arent as popular as the gen II's and are much harder to find. they ARE dot compliant, and still have much better lighting than the factory sylvanias, and use replaceable H4 bulbs
Image

Sylvania H6054 factory bulb housings. these things suck

I haven't posted on here in quite some time but am still driving the old 1993 S13 fastback...still plenty cherry.

I read this review, several others, and decided to rehabilitate the old girl's lighting. I picked up a set of the Cibie housings and H4 bulbs. I bought all new hardware for the lights (retainers, screws, springs, aiming screws, etc.) and got them installed tonight. I almost didn't want to put the thing in the garage. It's like I was blind and can now see.

It's been said before and I'm saying it again...these things completely change every aspect of night driving. I had Silverstars before and these make them look like parking lamps...what's even more awesome is that they produce LESS glare for oncoming traffic and are significantly brighter. The E-code rightward sweep illuminates the ditch and sidewalks and it's awesome at night to be able to see where you're turning.

Pardon if I don't get too technical, but I wanted to provide yet another testimonial that these are just amazing housings and about as good as I can imagine we can do with what we've got.
