Shipped out today....RB26 motor w/ uncut everything, RB25 transmission, RB25 Oil pan, old r32 fmic.

Here is a few pictures he just sent me today of the motor right before he wrapped it up for shipping...only thing worrying me is shifter being angled over so far...we'll have to see when it is here next week.

Why are you getting rid of the VQ? Not the direction I would have headed, but good luck with the swap.

Well my VQ is everything except for built right now....which is going to cost roughly $3500 after getting all the parts and getting the block machined. Selling my motor/turbo kit as it sits now is yielding me enough money to pay for most of my rb26 swap (motor, transmission, single turbo swap, PFC, etc). I am doing all the fabricating myself except for the driveshaft (I guess its a good thing Driveshaft Shop is only an hour away), so basically no money is going towards labor.

But that is not the primary reason for doing the swap...I just wanted to do it. I had been planning on picking up a 89/90 240sx coupe and putting one in that for the past couple of years now, finally said F it, I'll put it in the Z instead. I just want to do something different that isn't tried and true, so it really feels like a true project. All I know is.....wiring is going to be a total PITA cause I have to keep the stock ecu in the car to run everything like my CAN bus and abs. Should be fun though and I'm extremely excited.

good thing it comes with the 25 trans, lots of headaches saved there.only downside i can see is that its a r32 motor, so you may want to collar the crank and change to a late model pump to prevent it from assploding...i see you are in raleigh, check out carolinanissans.com, its the 'local forum' if you will.

The shifter was prolly just removed from its slot while removing from donor car, and kept separate (for what ever reasons) then just set back inside the hole for pic purposes.... just my guess.

There is no way one of those rb25 shifters can be bent like that. Most of you have seen one. They are very stout. I'd tend to believe the shifter housing would crack and break off, before that shifter lever would bend like that.....

Best motoring did a part of one volume on an RB26DETT powered Z33, and that car was intense. Good luck

I know TopSecret's RB26 powered 350Z's had attessa and so did the Zele 350Z's, but the best motoring one (built by Esprit) seems to be RWD from watching the car drive. Also a thing pops up that says "R34 25GT" which makes me believe that is the transmission that they used.

Here is a picture of the engine bay of the Zele Z33 with Atessa.

If you look at the engine, it is mounted much further forward than the Esprit Z33 in the video (the radiator support is even notched out for the CAS). And in the next picture look at where the shifter is in relation to where it normally is in a 350z and where it is in the Esprit...much further forward again...which is why I think that the Esprit one is actually rwd.

USsil80: I got it from http://www.jdmenginescorp.com ... David is a very easy and nice person to work with. I have not received my engine and whatnot yet, so I won't give a complete recommendation yet.

Iron Monkey, haha hows it going man? Hope you are enjoying the seats. I can't believe stupid FedEx just let them sit in the Charlotte terminal until I called them asking wtf was going on.

yeah think they take them out to remove the swap. then just set it back in and use the snap ring to hold it in.

5400 shipped for the full package deal....and just so everyone knows, the shifter is fine, just not aligned in the transmission properly.
