When are we going to see some daytime photos of the car with the new headlights?

I was looking at the BMW E39 headlights on eBay and noticed that they have a removable lens.

I was thinking that maybe it might be possible to just modify the headlights instead of messing with the fender on the Q.

If you can show us what the side of the car looks like, especially where you modified the fender, it would be nice.
I dont drive the car to work anymore so I am not really with it in the day. I bus and train it early and get back home like now. I will take some tomorrow if I get a chance but the car has to go back to the body shop because the paint is swirled and scrached all over.

That mod may not work because the lights are slimmer for the BMW slightly, also they are longer.

This **** is killing me! Hell, I'll fly up to NY myself and take some pics.

Caliber!!!!!! Look man, we don't care if the daylight close up may make an unfinished job look like ****... It doesn't have to be perfect... just feed us the pics and we'll deal with the rest!

Dude - you're killin' us!

I say get at least 5-6 orders for these lights - they will sell asap.

You really need to let us know if it will fit the 90-96 G50. If not, can it be modded to fit?

They fit but there is some modification that needs to be done to the quarter panel also you will have to create some brackets to mount the lights. What was done on mine is two brackets were welded to the top to mount the lights. I did not see what he did for the side of the light assembly.

The contour of the light is fine for the hood. It fits under the hood perfectly! But is just is shaped slightly different around the quarter panel. Some molding is also needed as the lights are sightly slimmer that the Q lights. Simlar to the 94 maxima lights molding.

You guys are making me feel bad. Ok not really... But seriously I did not know there would be such a reponse.

As soon as my body guy calls me to pickup the car I am going to take pictures of everything and post. Night or Day. I have some flood lamps I use when I work on the car at night so I will pull those babys out the garage.

No need to feel bad! Eveyone is entitled to their opinions. All that matter is what makes you happy!

Can't wait to see the pics! I was hopping it would be easier to do than what it sounds like - I was secretly hoping this would become another one of those cheap/cool G50 forum mods IE "Better than JWT computer & Jeff Williams FSTB"

heywier427 - Yes you live not far at all. You know I could use some help with my trunk wiring custom amp(s) mount and custom box. I have been thinking about using that space in the middle of the rear dash where the glove box deal is to mount one of my audiobahns.

Pizza is good....beer makes me roudy & loud...I am already loud & roudy. But good new i am getting my car back this evening. So I will post pics tonight.

KD I am sure they will work on a 93 with alittle modification. I have a friend who put a 94 hood on a 91 and now one is the wiser. So yes with alittle modding around the quarter panel. Hood clearance will be important to.... I have be looking a BMWs more (just for the lights) and notice that there are small size variations it would be something to look in to.

May be alittle far out but I really what to put g35 lights on the back now...

Q45Calibre,

Thanks for posting your pics. The angel eyes look great. So is it definitely a donation from a 1998-2002 model BMW 5 series? Costing USD650-800 installed?

Elwesso,Are you just pulling our legs when you mentioned a "group buy"?No probs if you are...

If not, then 60mgb, nuQ, and heywier427, please keep me informed if you are organising another group buy... Although i am in Australia my Visa card should still work...

sijoko,Have you got a link to a pic to those "crystal lights from Japan" you mentioned previously? Do they look like the "gatling guns" on the latest Q45?

CVS,

The Crystal Lights are actually the JDM headlights for the Q45 with the inner lenses removed. I have attached a pic.
