OP: I believe the insurance company will total the car...unfortunately. Do what you can to get it back.

On another note, the general public does not understand the concept of merging period- no matter what area you live in.

dude i have totally been there accept it was in the snow at lower speeds, if the frame isnt bad you can maybe pull the core support straight and just by new panels. its what i did and after some tinkering she looks as good as new almost....

then you can do a buyback for rather cheap.

sorry about your zenki. I hate merging in chicago loop's interstates. You have to merge from the left, to the fast lane, scary as hell.

i dont know i brought it to my buddys shop earlier today and he can do the apraisal so hes gonna get back to me.

i can find some way to balance money out, like for example money saved by not painting a CF hood could go to the hood itself! but wish me luck guys im dreading that phonecall tomorro...

If i were you i would sit down have a couple corona's and start tearing that front end apart myself. Its not really that hard. The have the frame pulled by a buddy you know and assemble it.

$2900 sounds fair. to 99% of people a 95 240sx is a beater car.

so i got the number of a custom apraiser and i met with him, got all my reciepts together and made him copies...he got my buddy with an s15 sr in his s14 just shy of $10k so he said for me i could prob get around 6-7k and the car back, so after i part out...or find a shell i could do something big with that extra bread!

btw found an 03 350z for 6900 on autotrader, needs a radiator but i think it might be my next car!

what you guys think

Most insurance co.'s do everything based on 80% of the car's value, meaning that if the damage is at or over 80% value, they total it, than they only offer the owner 80% of street value, so that is probably where they got their figure of $2900.

that sucks dude...altho i'm not even surprised it was caused by a woman. they should really retest all the women drivers it seems like they're responsible for 90% of the accidents
