Check it out! I opted to install it infront of everything because it the best location for it! 100% cooling effect, a lot better than in between condenser and radiator!Cheers!

I got cooler at B&B autoparts, Hayden trans cooler mode697. First relocated two horns ,kinda hard to do due to short left side horn wire and intterference with hood lanch. If you play with positions (kama sutra ) you will find good spot for the left soide horn. Then I used existing LH side horn braket for cooler attachement and fabricated annle braket that went on LH side frame rail (right where thebumper/headlight braket is) . I have not hooked up lines yet, that is next step. I will rout them along theradiator from LH side. YOu would have to create some kind of bracket to hold it in vertical position. So, what I've come up was a braket that connected lower A/C fan attachement point with RH side of the cooler (the cooler itself has flanges). Just bolt it together and it stays in place like OEM!

Did you notice any difference in shifting behavior (smoother, etc...)?

If you mount it in that location, you would have to run auxilary fan to keep air flowing trough it!I have researched before I got it on my car!

Ok, I thought that that picture was taken with it mounted outside of the car or something.

So it's mounted in the wheel well? If so, isn't that blocking the air colling passage for the brakes?

Good stuff. I'm thinking of one of these JEG'S made by Flex-A-Lite, so I know they make good stuff. Plus we get the hook-up with Jeg's since we do all thier race suits. I was thinking of this one 400-3812, since I've never heard of a transmission problem on the Y33, I figure it's gonna be good enough. The other one I'm thinking of is B&M polished supercooler 130-70265, also from Jeg's.

Not at all. It has fully unrestricted independent flow front and rear via the louvered wheel arch shield and of course the under grille opening in front (see other picture looking into the bumper cutout).

The main advantage of this location is is is well shielded form stones and does not transfer heat to any other radiator. It's cooling flow is its own.

Where's the link, Rex?

Not sure??

If you click the image (above), the larger version opens in a new window (on most systems).

No image on my browser. Maybe pop-up blocker killed it.

Wait! That's weird. Now it's there.

No it's not. Now it's gone again.

How does one edit the picture's description once it is posted?

The cooler that you said was 18.000GVW looks twice smaller than one I got. Are you sure about 18.000GVW?

If clicking the image loads "just" the image into your current window, both IE & Firefox will auto resize ti fit and can be enlarged to actual size by 1 of 2 ways depending on your bowser.

Are you referring to editing the url name of the image?

I don't think you can. I think you have to re-upload to change the url name. You can change the "label" name using the edit button, but I don't think that gains you anything.

No, editing the picture's description at Member's Rides.

Don't know why some pictures show and some don't, though. You know, the way you post them Rex, they never show.

You can edit the picture's description, by viewing the picture and then clicking "Edit Photo" on bottom right (blue banner). Then "Edit title for the photo" about the 5 line down.

Do you mean the pictures I posts never show up? You just see a red x? Really?

Brian, what browser are you using and do you have extrernal images turned off?

(Sorry for the hijack guys)

Rex, I can see all them and click them without problem, but I use Safari on Mac.

Any opinions on this:

The Flex-a-lite is smaller and does not list any pressure rating, though they have some for the same GVW rating that are "close" in size.

The B&M seems to offer better cooling, and the polished 70265 is sexy , but also smaller

It seems the B&M has worked for many, that speaks to both effeciency and quality, but I've never heard bad about Flex-a-lite either. Maybe one of their bigger units?

I'd be interested in trying something like this that can offer a under car mount allowing air to travel longitudinally, hmmm, but so pricey in comparison. Scratch the pricey part, I found another web site that lists it fro MUCH less, in 2 sizes both with single and dual outlets.

Here's a Moroso unit that's both a cooler and a filter

Detailed DescriptionCombination cooler/filter uses efficient "Heat Sink" configuration to dissipate the excessive heat build up in racing transmissionsMade of aluminum with 500 sq. inches of radiation surface for high heat transferFilter with magnet removes all wear particles over 4 microns in sizeDimension: 3" in diameter, 12" in length, and weighs only one poundVery easy to install; not recommended for street useComes complete with filter cartridge and all necessary installation instructions

Not bad for filter and cooler all in one for $79.23

That looks nice, but I want to use Jeg's because we have the "hook's" with them. I think I'll go for the polished B&M. Thanks!

I must have missed it. I'll look again.

Not even a red X in a white square.

IE6 SP2. No.

Polished is less efficient than black.

Here's my concern with your set-up. What happens at idle? I completely understand the air flow from the front intake to the wheel arch but at idle with the car stopped??

I actually had the wheel arch out and considered that location, but decided against it without the ducting and fan used from an Active unit...

BTW, I'm using IE6.0 with SP2 and have no problems with Rex's pictures.
