Four Lug, your S13 is tight...

BAD NEWS... i went to auto zone today (20 min ago) and they didn't freaking have the calipers for order... their special order warehouse was out of stock... I will have to postpone this now... i'll check strauss... rather buy rebuilt ones than used ones for over 200 bucks....

okay, i say do the z32 brakes then 5 spd... u could get the transmission for $250, ebay for the clutch, just cut the brake pedal smaller w/ a sawzall, and there is this place for the clutch...

they have kits for flywheel and clutch kit, or just a clutch kit... dont tell anyone i told u this awsome site!!! http://gripforce.com/store/ind...=3_39

lol yea man...your car is too low for N.NJ roads :]

I really want my stick shift bad... but my brakes are not that great.. my rotors are shot... that's why i want to do this upgrade first instead of just buying new brakes and rotors...

I would do the transmission first BUT around $350 for the brake swap including powdercoating is a lot easier to get than $1000 for the swap done right... I have taken shortcuts before with my altima and the car falls a cut short of being the way i want it. now that i can make decisions based on past experiences, i don't want to do the swap putting in lesser quality stuff...

It might be less than $1k for it.. i don't know since i haven't looked up the pricing on a descent clutch/flywheel. I saw transmission's on ebay for $250 so i guess i can find one local for 200-250... but i would want to rebuild it... so the kit i think is in just under $200 plus like 2-300 for a clutch and flywheel used/resurfaced about $100 (or lightweight for too much...)
i was in the same boat......wanted 5 spd but brakes sucked. So i just upgraded and waited it out. Found a s13 with blown 5spd engine and dirt cheap and now i have all the parts for a 5spd swap. It will all come in time

Thanks. And the whole autozone for Z brakes situation I went through last year when I first started working there. I was just gonna do the old switcheroo and leave my stock calipers as cores.

Haha, you're the dude I bought the rear seats + VC off of today thanks again !! Yeah, driving up to Woodbridge I'm on the rightmost lane and all of a sudden I look and the fast and middle lanes just straight DROPOFF into raw concrete instead of asphalt about 2 inches lower. Right then and there I knew God was watching over me. The drive back South wasn't bad at all though. Just the typical dipping and dodging. Gotta hone those reflexes.

Sounds like a good way for me to start when i'm doing the transmission swap... if i went boost, it won't be for a good year and a half or even two so i can do a stage 1 for now....

I appreciate your help...

I drive through that very road every day of the week on my way to school. It caught me by surprise the first time when I was on the "speed" lane. Thank god im still 4x4 status or I would've lost my bumper. lol

hmm.. whitebunny... lol... sounds so soft and cuddly... i'll check it out.. trying to get a transmission from some guy on zilvia.net... it'll be like 150 plus or minus 15... if he didn't sell it yet... i read that if it's an ODB1 transmission i just have to swap my auto ODB2 bell housing so i can have the hole to put my crank sensor...

But if i buy the transmission, i'll let it sit in my apartment and order the rebuild kit (I have NEVER even seen the inside of a transmission) and rebuild it myself w/ syncros.... I'm sure it's not that hard... being that i know enough about cars... not sure if i might need a feeler gauge but everything else i already have... shoot maybe i'll do a "how not to rebuild your transmission" write-up.... lol.. nah i'll be fine...

We'll see if i get it.... if so, brakes will come second...
