With the pressure-fit, they go all the way to the back of the housing as the factory has them aimed. If you locate them abit forward then you have the opportunity to aim as you wish. I chose to avoid the factory wire set-up since I had one BCM replaced because of the tire pressure module failure. If it goes again, I don't want the dealer blaming me for the fog lights.By the way, I go to work ar 2:55 AM and fogs and hi-beams are usually not an issue at that time. It gives me a lot of options set up this way.longo wrote:The new photo looks 'right-on', much nicer look.
Just wondering about your switch hook up decision to the parking lamps..
When I hook mine up I only want them on with the 'low-beams'. From reading what little there is about the SL, OEM hook up, the Fog-on power function is already wired to the main switch. Apparantly the computor sends a 'ground' signal to the lamps to complete the circuit and turn on the Fogs, in the 'Low-Beam' only mode. Makes sense I guess as high beams are useless in actual fog and dense rain conditions as the light just bounces back into your face. Plus, nobody in on oncoming traffic wants be staring down High Beams and Fogs at the same time.
With your 'pressure-fit' are you able to aim them properly?
tsk tsk...so many questions....
I have my Piia's sitting on the bench waiting to go in, so thanks for the great pic's and info...

To remove the inserts follow the directions given by Clipsed in his installation sticky. That works great! I used a small putty knife with a cloth behind it and POP, it came out. I ran the wires through the fender with shrink tubing and through a grommet near the door hinge. See photo:sickversa wrote:Hello: I bought the same fog lamps for my versa but haven't installed them yet. What's the best way to get the black insert out without damaging the paint. Also how did you get the switch into the cabin of the car as it's pretty good size? Also where did you mount it? How did you cut out the holes in the inserts? A dremel? I heard one person used a hole saw. I just want it to look nice like yours. In that last picture of the light installed, is it fully in? It looks off center. Would it be better to put the light in through the front so the whole light can be seen? Can it be mounted that way? Sorry for all the questions, I want to be able to do the install right. I have seen pics of others that don't look factory....not good....
Thanks,Chris
Thanks longo! I feel better already. My entire installation was about $100 and that included buying the hole saw. Just for the record, I used my fogs on my way to work this week and I am very satisfied. I adjusted the passenger-side fog slightly to illuminate the side of the road a bit more and now they are perfect. They throw a god deal of llight. They are 55w each compared to the OEMs at 35w each. They compliment the regular beams quite well.longo wrote:It seems that having the weekend off did not make the Parts- Guy at the local Nissan Dealership any easier to get along with. I asked bout the OEM fog lamps for the Versa....
After much Grumphing and computor clicking he came back on the line and simply said..."$206.00"
I replied..."for the kit"?
Nope, just one lamp.
"Have a kit with 2?"
Nope, just sell them one at a time.
I replied..."that's OBSCENE!"
another "Grumpgh", and end of conversation.
I am not sure whether I can just put the link in since the seller is not a sponsor of the forum, but if you do an ebay search for VERSA XENON FOG LIGHTS, one auction will come up for $72.77. If that doesn't work, send me a PM or an email.Ion22 wrote:How much did the kit cost you and do you have a link?
My girlfriends mom wants me to put fogs on her car and this looks the cleanest!!
Thanks for the clarification!! Here is the link:http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...ZWD1Vproxim2020 wrote:Ebay links are cool as long as you're not the seller or sponsoring someone (i.e. posting your buddy's links to Ebay auctions). ....Absolutely no wabble or vibration at all. If they need to be tighter in the housing, you just add a washer to the bolt to make it wider.Jun_alejandria wrote:You did an absolutely great job with your fog lights!!! Wish I could hire you to do my fog lights on my Versa S. Do you notice any vibrations with the fog lights while driving, or is it very secured in the housing? I followed the link you posted for ebay....Im about ready to order it and guess hire some shop to install it. .....thanks
