I have been waiting for the OEM fog lamps like many of you, but I became impatient. So basing my decision on Clipsed's sticky thread and ShusterVision's fog lamp installation, I bit the bullet and bought the eBay fogs that are on ShusterVision's Versa. These are the xenon fogs, not the LEDs. I found that you don't need the bracket and it installed perfectly in the fog light housing in the Versa. They look OEM to me!

Both sides with bracket:

Light without the bracket:

Fog light housing (note the slots at 9 and 3 o'clock):

Close-up of bracket screw fitting into the 3 o'clock slot (very snug):

The fog light installed in the housing:

The black cover installed and ready to go:

Now, I have OEM-style fog lamps!!!

Excellent photos!

I also bought a set of Fogs off eBay, blue LED's, awfull junk, sent them back. Yours look very well built, altho a little large for the cut out. Might just be the angle of the photo taken?

As you didn't go into much detail about the install in your post, I have a couple of questions...did you use any of the OEM Fog lamp wiring harness,( already on the SL's)and what, other than the snap in plastic surround cover, seems to be holding your lamps in place?

Thanks for checking..

They are four inches in diameter so most of the light is exposed in the 3-inch cut out. The pressure-fit and the surround is holding the lamp in place. I'll let you know how well that stays, but the fit is very tight in the housing. I used the harness that came with the kit and it works very well. I attached the 12 volt switch wire to the driver's parking lamp (yellow bulb at the very top of the Versa's light housing. So now the fogs are on only when I use the parking lights or headlights. When I turn the regular lights off, the fogs go out too. Also, I have a switch (supplied in the kit) inside the car.

The upper angle of the last photo gives the impression that the light is off-center. I took another shot at fog light level:

Heyyy! I am very impressed. I am glad you listened to us and did not waste your money on factory lights. They look really good and I am happy for you that you had a good experience installing them.

The new photo looks 'right-on', much nicer look.

Just wondering about your switch hook up decision to the parking lamps..

When I hook mine up I only want them on with the 'low-beams'. From reading what little there is about the SL, OEM hook up, the Fog-on power function is already wired to the main switch. Apparantly the computor sends a 'ground' signal to the lamps to complete the circuit and turn on the Fogs, in the 'Low-Beam' only mode.

Makes sense I guess as high beams are useless in actual fog, dense rain and snow conditions as the lights just bounce back into your face. Plus, nobody in on oncoming traffic wants be staring down High Beams and Fogs at the same time.

With your 'pressure-fit' are you able to aim them properly?

tsk tsk...so many questions....

I have my Fogs' sitting on the bench waiting to go in, so thanks for the great pic's and info...

With the pressure-fit, they go all the way to the back of the housing as the factory has them aimed. If you locate them abit forward then you have the opportunity to aim as you wish. I chose to avoid the factory wire set-up since I had one BCM replaced because of the tire pressure module failure. If it goes again, I don't want the dealer blaming me for the fog lights.By the way, I go to work ar 2:55 AM and fogs and hi-beams are usually not an issue at that time. It gives me a lot of options set up this way.

I am afraid the S's are not pre-wired. The only thing that is already there is a convenient place in the bumper moulding for the lights.

Hello: I bought the same fog lamps for my versa but haven't installed them yet. What's the best way to get the black insert out without damaging the paint. Also how did you get the switch into the cabin of the car as it's pretty good size? Also where did you mount it? How did you cut out the holes in the inserts? A dremel? I heard one person used a hole saw. I just want it to look nice like yours. In that last picture of the light installed, is it fully in? It looks off center. Would it be better to put the light in through the front so the whole light can be seen? Can it be mounted that way? Sorry for all the questions, I want to be able to do the install right. I have seen pics of others that don't look factory....not good....

Thanks,Chris

To remove the inserts follow the directions given by Clipsed in his installation sticky. That works great! I used a small putty knife with a cloth behind it and POP, it came out. I ran the wires through the fender with shrink tubing and through a grommet near the door hinge. See photo:

I removed the wires from the switch and feed them through the grommet using the coat hanger method described by Clipsed. He went through the fire wall. The switch can be mounted anywhere, but I put mine to the right of the hood release. Sorry the photo is blurry:

The black housings took the most time. I am lucky to have a drill press with a 3" hole saw. The rest of it was cleaned up with a Dremel tool fitted with the fine rotary sandpaper. Fine finish detail was accomplished with my thumb nail.

The light is pretty much centered but the photo could be off. Initially, I thought about mounting the light on the outside which can be done. I would assume that you would glue it in place? I dropped the idea. My wife owned a 2004 Ford Sport Trac and those fogs appear the way these do so I was satisfied with the install. I hope this reply helps.

The factory should have installed those in every Versa from the start.

Any Idea of where you can get those OEM fogs from the Dallas Show?

The Fog Lamps on the Dallas Auto Show Versa are the ones you would get if you odered them from a Nissan Dealer.

"Original Ecquipment Manufacturer"

The are some on the Versa formus saying that the dealers have had some difficuties stocking them, so phone around and see what's going on.

Unless they are freakishly expensive at the parts counter, they would sure take a lot of possible DIY instalation issues out of the project, and look great.

I know what OEM is and where they come from. I just haven't heard of any dealers stocking them. I won't mind paying for shipping if I can just find a dealer selling them. If you know of any let me know.

HI VersaMitch, Hope somone will come forward with some usefull info on the OEM Versa Fogs, as I too like the nice fit and finished look.

It's the 'Easter Long Weekend' here in The Great White North, so the Nissan parts counters are all closed for a few days.I will find out on Monday what they have to say about price and avalability.

It seems that having the weekend off did not make the Parts- Guy at the local Nissan Dealership any easier to get along with. I asked bout the OEM fog lamps for the Versa....

After much Grumphing and computor clicking he came back on the line and simply said..."$206.00"

I replied..."for the kit"?

Nope, just one lamp.

"Have a kit with 2?"

Nope, just sell them one at a time.

I replied..."that's OBSCENE!"

another "Grumpgh", and end of conversation.

Thanks longo! I feel better already. My entire installation was about $100 and that included buying the hole saw. Just for the record, I used my fogs on my way to work this week and I am very satisfied. I adjusted the passenger-side fog slightly to illuminate the side of the road a bit more and now they are perfect. They throw a god deal of llight. They are 55w each compared to the OEMs at 35w each. They compliment the regular beams quite well.

I am not sure whether I can just put the link in since the seller is not a sponsor of the forum, but if you do an ebay search for VERSA XENON FOG LIGHTS, one auction will come up for $72.77. If that doesn't work, send me a PM or an email.

Ebay links are cool as long as you're not the seller or sponsoring someone (i.e. posting your buddy's links to Ebay auctions). We don't want to boards to become a place of business. While we try to support our sponsors as much as possible, sometimes they don't have items that others may have.

....Absolutely no wabble or vibration at all. If they need to be tighter in the housing, you just add a washer to the bolt to make it wider.
