Holy Mary ! The rear quater panel and rear door blend so beautifully with the new width. Then there are the sexy front fenders. You car is stunningly brilliant! It stands out from the rest while still being quite tasteful. It says:
"I may look a bit posh and refined, but .... a bloody beast lives inside of here"! Like driving past a beautiful Manor home and seeing "Tazmanian Devil" on the mail box, LOL.

Thanks TXT

At one point I wanted to custom paint them but I'm too chicken to open them.

I can't wait for it to get in to the 60's so I can wax her.

The fronts are in the fender at 42et and I'm good with that, I don't want the tire near the fender lip. Body work is big bucks up here. I have more room to go out but I rather be safe.

As of now I don't know what to do with the rear, I don't feel like taking the whole rear apart just to install longer studs. too much work for an extra 5mm, not worth the time nor the money.

I have 5mm spacer now and I still have some room for another 5mm

I don't want to push it and be too close to the fenders as I don't want any damage

The only spacer I found with built-in studs is 12mm for $80

I'm still thinking.

hmm a 305 is 10mm wider (ea side) than a 285... they are big bucks for rubber though. A lot more than longer studs or spacers.

I might just order the 12mm with built-in studs for testing, if it works it would be great.

Thank you

All the windows are tinted 20% except the large rear windshield which is 15%.

That is without doubt, absolutely brilliant, mate ! Our body style was the pinacle for Infiniti. All models after that went downhill like a buggy on a ramp. The wide body and the sexy front fenders are light years beyond the current pensioner's body design. Is that Diamond Graphite or Liquid Platinum?
As great as the body-side graphic looked, I think it's best left off now.

Larz thank you for the kind words and I agree 06-07 are the best looking M's up to date. That's 1 on the reason I'm not replacing my front bumper, the newer bumpers look too cartoooonish. I rather keep it orininal and have the more aggressive look. The Y51 looks front heavy (truckish) with no asss but I do like the interior and the extra power the M56 has.

My M is Diamond Graphite but when in full sunlight she looks silver.

In the last week I was able to give my M it's 1st wax job since she came out of the auto body getting the widebody done, it took me 3 days to finish.

I also pulled the trigger and installed longer studs for the new 10mm spacer for the rear, she now has an even greater and fuller stance at the rear.

I also re-painted the calipers high gloss black to match the new Black Hartz rotors.

Larz the side-graphics are done. I had to re-design a new template on the car in order to get a new set, I had to install this set myself too. If you liked the 1st design your going to like the 2nd design set even more as everyone that has passed by my garage has stated already. The new design is less but it's more aggressive at the same time. I really feel that the graphic stripe helps break up all that Diamond Graphite thus the reason going with a painted high gloss black roof.

The car is now dirty but if I have a chance I'll snap a pic for you later before the rain storm starts.

Very kind of you! Yes, I'd love to see the new graphic. Your hard work and creativity really shows. Clearly, you have a knack for this stuff.

The car is dirty in the pics I just posted. Look above at the pics with the brick wall that dressing was only applied about 4hrs before. It's crazy shinny.

I buy that dressing from a friend, it come in a gallon and it's blue. I'll try to get you the name when I go back out.

At the last M BBQ/meet I did about 8 cars with that same dressing, some said it lasted a long time even after a wash

Freddie that is brilliant! It's not gawdy, and it's not overpowering. It has just enough presence to break-up the height along the side without becoming a focal point so you still see the whole car instead a gomping piece of black trim.
Speaking of the car, the way that wax refracts the light instead of just 'looking' shiny is also bonkers. What is your process for getting such a great finish? I reckon you do the clay bar - polish - wax route but what brand do you use?

Thanks Larz I knew you would like the new graphic stripe and like the other things on the car it looks much better in person.

Now as for the wax this is somewhat hard to explain but I can tell you I do everything by hand. The car never goes to a car wash. The car never gets wiped down if it's a little dirty, I just wait a little longer and just was it with soap & water. I never let the car get to a point that it will need a clay bar.

Please keep in mind that a black car is a different animal but I"ll go thru what I just did to my fathers 2000 Sentra which is 14yrs old and still has the oem paint.

This is for a complete detail:

This is what I call prep work

1. wash the entire car with dawn soap (1 time only)

2. clay bar the entire car (try your best not to miss a spot)

3. find the polish/swirl remover you like best (do the best that you can)

4. wax the entire car with the wax you like best (I used NXT by Meguiar)

The 4 steps I just listed is to make your car as clean as possible while getting rid of light scratches & swirl marks.

The next steps will be for shine & protection:

5. Apply a quick coat of Zaino Z6 (a spray detail, spray on and wipe off)

6. Apply a very thin coat of Zaino Z2 (let dry for 2hrs before removing)

7. Apply another coat of Zaino Z6 (after removing Z6 wait 2hrs)

8. Apply a quick coat of Zaino Z8 (a spray enhancer, spray on and wipe off)

Doing steps 5 thru 8 will give your car a shine & protection for about 6 months.

If you wash you car at home and after every wash you apply Zaino Z6 then apply Zaino Z2 every 2 months your car will have that shine all the time.

Doing all 8 steps takes a long time but at the end it will all be worth it, you never have to do step 1 thru 4 again.

It's also a little pricey to buy all the product at the same time but it will last you enough to do the car for well over a year.

Because my car just came out of the body shop with a nice coat of glaze I didn't have to do steps 1 thru 4.

I had to wait 30 days before applying anything to the new paint.

After giving the car a good wash I let her sit in the garage until the next day, you want to make sure you have no water leaking from doors or mirrors when using Zaino.

The 2nd day I did steps 5 thru 7 (including eng covers)

The 3rd day I did step 8 and when all done I did the tire dressing.

After lunch I took the pics of the M with the brick back-ground

Now all I have to do is wash the car, apply Zaino Z6. I only apply Zaino Z2 twice a year, spring & fall.

I used Zaino for protection for over 12yrs now and I haven't seen anything better yet. :dblthumb:

I always said the hardest part is keeping her clean.

Here is the info on the tire dressing:

Thanks Freddie, for going to all that trouble and detail. I, too, would never put my car through any commercial car wash or any fund-raising coner lot car wash either. You're right about keepng it clean - especially black. I live at the beach so I get a light, barely visble dusting of sand on the car every day but I don't wipe it or use a duster. I just wait until it gets bad enough to actually wash it. I use the compressor (not full tilt) that I have for my driveway to make sure I have chased all the sand away before I begin washing. And in 24 hours the dusting is back, LOL.
Still hoping the 2016 Q-version of the M class looks at least similar to the Q50 style and if it does, I'm getting one in Liquid Platinum or Diamond Graphite.

Larz, +1 on Diamond Graphite, but i guess i am biased.

Freddie, man, you could be a one man car show!!! one of the cleanest Y50 generation Ms that i've seen without being overly gaudy.

i think i'm gonna have to buy some Zaino products and then buy stock in the company.
I am planning on hitting the car with a new dual action polisher I just bought, once the weather is nicer and the pollen has eased up. I want to protect all the hard work I am going to be doing.

thanks for sharing the pics and knowledge...

Thanks Craig

I don't know about that 1 man show I like to hang with as many M's as I can thus the reason I hosted the M BBQ/meet for the past 3yrs. :dblthumb:

Lots of wax on the market and I'm sure most do a great job at making the car look good but when it comes to protection I haven't seen anything better than Zaino.

Use whatever wax you feel is best after you finish protect it with Zaino.

Thanks Minus

The 4th M BBQ/meet should be sometime this June or September. July & August is just to hot. :tisk:

Robert from Queens NY is to host it this year but I know he's working hard on his M and if for some reason he can't do it than I'll step in and host it.

I plan to attend either way :dblthumb:
