So I was looking for a nice pistol to plink at the range, and to use as a carry pistol. I shopped around and after talking to Repo Man, I decided on a SIG. I found this used one. She is 12 years old, but is in "New in Box" condition. It has had less than 200 rounds fired through it. The anodizing on the frame where it contacts the slide is still black and new. There are no smileys on the outside of the barrel. It was purchased as a home defense weapon, had couple of boxes of ammo run through it, as well as new grips, and then it sat under a bed for many, many years. The guy sold it and I was lucky enough to pick it up. I brought her home tonight, and decided to share a couple of pics with you guys.

Not going soft... Not yet at least.

I'll post up some targets and a review after the ice on the roads melts and I can make it to a range.

I love me some SIG. They keep telling us we're going to get issued M11s, but I think they just enjoy teasing me.

Nice pistol.I just picked up a s&w sigma 9mm and i got a buddy who's gonna sell me a kimber 1911 for 350 that's been locked in his gun safe for a few years and had one mag fired through it.I've always wondered how the sig's fire and I'm gonna try and get a ccw so i can carry the 1911.(i'm a big guy and wear a shoulder harness with two magazine holders on the other side.) Right now i just open carry my hi point 9mm with the shoulder harness(legal in colorado without a permit.)

Why do you say that? I shot about 500 rounds of tulammo through it this past week and had no failure to feeds or failure to ejects from it what so ever? and it feels like a nice tight gun.I personally enjoy shooting my hi point the most,it's such a cheap gun that it'll eat whatever i put in it,always goes bang,i've beat the hell out of it,and have never had a problem other than 3 ftf from it when it was brand new.

Read up on that little Glock copy (seriously, S&W paid Glock big when they got caught). May you have continued good fortune with yours, but I wouldn't trust my life with it. Notorious for a terrible trigger too.

Tool around on The High Road a bit, and you'll find plenty of detractors of the Sigma. Some supporters too, but, well... check it for yourself

Then if you got a good deal on it, horray!

I'd be careful dutch loading a shotgun like that, though. Penetration! See: http://www.theboxotruth.com/docs/bot3_2.htm

I live in a house by myself. My bedroom opens up to the entire house and i'd almost always be aiming downwards on the intruder should that happen they'd most likely just embed themselves into my hardwood floor.and ya i got a decent deal on it.I paid 359 and got a 50 dollar rebate from s&w for it, so i actually only paid 309 for it.

Killer deal on the Kimber! Hopefully you get lucky and don't have too many problems with it.

Also, I loled at the hi point. I have one. Huge frame and only holds 8 rounds :rotfl

If i can't hit what i'm trying to hit in 8 rounds then i'll lay down and accept death because that's ridiculous.

I agree with you. I actually prefer a Ruger Security Six, but that wasn't the point.

A Ruger, Springfield, or Sig in the same sized frame would hold 15+ rounds!

I've heard that argument, but I want as many rounds as I can carry after my caliber requirements are met.

Don't get me wrong if i could carry more rounds i would. But as for my open carry weapon until i get the kimber 1911 i'm fine with 8 rounds because i'm a decent shot and i know i could hit what i was aiming for.

If hi point would get their crap together and make their magazines double stack or hell even make coffin magazines(that would be badass) they could come out from the bottom of the market and make a solid dent in the firearm business.

This is true but if they charged under 275 they would still kill the market.a 16 round doublestack hi point 9mm for 250 would be amazing, and if they made it be able to accept glock mags that would be sweet.Especially for the 33+1 mags.

That would be freaking awesome.

I'd hope they would transfer that over to the Carbine. Apparently that thing is a real shooter out to ~50~75 yards!

Have you checked out the Hi-Point forums? It's amazing how awesome these guns are when people actually use them rather then judging them by their looks and prices!

Yup i picked up a 995ts a few months ago and damn is it a good rifle. The carbine mags will go over to the pistol but their not a very tight fit.and for the pistol mags to fit into the carbine receiver it'd have to be 10 rounds or more.I think high point should start redesigning their guns for glock mags and have it interchangeable between the carbine and pistol.

the hi point carbine is a nice little rifle...I just don't much care for pistol calibers in a rifle.

Unless I'm going cowboy style but it'd probably be a .44 Mag lever gun with a Super Blackhawk.

if you dig around, you can find some fine pistols in the 3-400 range brand new. EAA has more than one good option in that range.

Yummy, just thinking about a Marlin Stainless lever action in 44mag!

Who needs a 30-30!!!

And EAA has a 10mm that I've been eying for about 2 years now. Sexy!

While we are on the Subject of different guns:

d!ck's has a Mossberg 802 Plinkster on sale tomorrow for $109. I've got a $10 off coupon too.

I've been thinking about a bolt action 22 since I've noticed I lose a lot of power cycling the action in my Marlin Model 60 and 795.

I'm talking a 6" drop at 100 yards with the semi-auto vs ~2" with a falling block or bolt action.

What do you think about the model 802?

If there already isn't there should be a gun related thread. I have no experience with guns but I enjoy reading threads like this and do want to expand my knowledge on the subject
