if you want a bolt .22, look into the Savages and CZ's.PoorManQ45 wrote:While we are on the Subject of different guns:
d!ck's has a Mossberg 802 Plinkster on sale tomorrow for $109. I've got a $10 off coupon too.
I've been thinking about a bolt action 22 since I've noticed I lose a lot of power cycling the action in my Marlin Model 60 and 795.
I'm talking a 6" drop at 100 yards with the semi-auto vs ~2" with a falling block or bolt action.
What do you think about the model 802?
That's a good thing. The 10/22 takes a couple hundred dollars to do what a Marlin Model 60 can do right out of the box!ScorchedNX2K wrote:Trying to get my brother to get a 10/22...he won't listen to me.
I'm going to order a Marlin 981ts on Monday. It's a sexy beast!Mr1der wrote:

I'd like to get one of the Savage rifles in .17 HMR. Everyone that gets one seems to love it.
what I really need to do is take out my 10/22 more though. maybe put a decent little scope on it for fun.

I would have said Remington 597, but agreed.PoorManQ45 wrote:That's a good thing. The 10/22 takes a couple hundred dollars to do what a Marlin Model 60 can do right out of the box!ScorchedNX2K wrote:Trying to get my brother to get a 10/22...he won't listen to me.
I agree, but add a Blackhawk Stock to that and you're golden!Chaotic_Warlord wrote:As far as bolt action rifles go give me a Remington model 700 in .300 win mag and I'll be a happy camper.
