I'm not gonna wish any harm on you or whatever, but from a deeply honest perspective, that was a very very stupid thing to do. I've launched my car before. I Kept it confined to my lane, and stopped accelerating once i got up to the usual driving speeds of the road i was on. In my eyes that wasn't necessarily ok, but i didn't find it anyways harmful to my life or anyone else on the road (the one other car that was there). drifting is a whole different story. You're purposefully losing and regaining control of your car. The principle of what goes up, must come down definitely does not apply there, because there's no guarantee of you regaining control. Such forms of driving should really be kept on a track (a somewhat controlled environment).
Do you know why tracks were built to facilitate Motorsports? It's definitely not to keep you safe. No. It's more for allowing ample time for a medical team or response team in general to do their job and have a better chance of saving your life should something go wrong. But most importantly, it's to keep what would otherwise be defined as reckless driving off of public roadways, where 99% of the other drivers presently on the same road as you, have no interest in what you're doing.
C'mon guys. We have to stop giving the government reasons to think red light cameras are ok.
**cliff notes + extras: If you wanna be mad tyte awesome drifter, pay the fees associated with doing it legally. Too expensive for you? Well do it in your own yard after you've built a sturdy enough concrete wall to ensure no one else's property is affected by your actions. If you wanna have a medical team or whatever on standby in your yard, that's up to you. You probably might find that too expensive though.
