3VZ-FE WHY? That is the biggest turd of a motor. Under powered, heavy and loves to spin bearings on the 3 and 5 rod journals. When I worked at a Japanese only machine shop/importer that was our number 1 rebuilder. I built so many I could probably do it with my eyes closed now.

Why? because they're cheap, not expensive. It's a start for me. I have no problem rebuilding one.

Heavier? Sure... with an internal build, i can push out more than the
5s-fe's 135HP. transmission swap: easy s54 swap and no adaptors required.

3s motors are much more in price than the v6 motors. I won't bother with them, unless I find one dirt cheap. imo.

Not looking to swap a turbo motor in my 2. just wanna have fun with it and drive it up and down, here and there. You dig.

Yeah, but the 3VZ is bottom-of-the-barrel even for V6s. There are aluminum V6 options from Toyota, like the 3MZ (which I still don't like, but is a lot better than the 3VZ) or the 2GR.

A friend is doing the MZ swap from an ES300 into his mom's SW20. Going to be very nice when it's done.

Yes, I know about the 3vz. The 2GR is awesome, but it's worth an arm and leg. looks good in the Evora. Sounds great, runs great. Positioning into the SW chassis is no picnic.
Requires a lot of work. Basically need the donor car to transfer electronics, such as the drive-by-wire throttle assembly and ecu transponder system. I've read about two swaps done by twobrutal.com members.
Time and money is required, plus skills to wire up this puppy. Nevertheless, it's a bullet-proof enigne. All toyota engines can last a long time with proper maintenance and care. No lie there.
Sorry for the thread-jack.
