i picked up my 93 hatchback 240sx for 3700. the car allready has redtop sr20det,tein tie rods, hks turbo timer, esplier lowering spings, 3 in downpipe and full 3 in catless stainless steel exhuast, front mount intercooler, s13 conversion, s13 gauge cluster, slivia stearing wheel. Was that a good deal or what? right now it is running 9 psi, with no power sterring or ac, and all of the other stuff i listed, what would you expect the hp to be? and how much could i boost the set up right now? it doesnt have a boost controller, so i know i need to get one to boost it any more. but i am just looking at some numbers and seeing what you guys think.

First off take a very very good look at everything under the car. You are not lucky there has got to be something wrong with the car. A standard swapped car with a decent body should fetch between 5k and 8k. You could just be at the right place at the right time but every bargain swap that I have seen has major issues lurking under the surface. I highly recommend a compression test and take the IC piping off at the turbo and look for shaft play on the impeller.

The normal boost rating on a stock turbo for reliability is 12 PSI. Past this the turbo will heat the air too much as it is beyond the compressors flow rate. Above this also promotes oil seal blowouts. Depending on the quality of the components and an adjustable FPR, no cat, and CO2 intercooler sprayer I have seen 250 at the wheels with a stock T25 turbo but I don't know the boost pressure he was running.

Good luck with everything and let no squeak, rattle or clunk go uninspected.

14 PSI is max on stock injectors, turbo, and MAFs. with that setup I would say you are probubly making about 210 whp.

the motor came from a front clip with gauge cluster and every thing, it had 80k kilometers on it. and it runs really strong. it need some suspension work, but i planned on doing that to any car i picked up. the motor is extremely clean. and runs smooth. the body is where it needs the most work, i forgot to mention it has 180sx tail lights and some namebrand front bracing right under the radiator. we are going to tear it all apart and do upgrades to almost every aspect of the car. but i was wonerding with the set up it has right now running 9 psi how much est hp does it have at the wheels? (IT also has a Walbro 255 lph Fuel pump)

Good find. I just bought one also for 1000. The kid didn't know what his dad built for him and didn't like the whistling noise it made when he shifted...

Do maintenance first. Then up the boost to like 10psi and have fun. Good luck
