What a shame.

Now goody you have to change your signature.

Why did mike sell his 90 Q did he say?

Never thought I would see the day High Performance (1990 Q45) would leave mikes hands.

But congrats on a one of a kind buy.

thats one of the reasons why i was saying i wasnt to concerned with mechanics and something happeneing right away, cuz i trust the guy.. but long story short, he saw me posting ads about another q45 for sale, the 92 with the 96 motor in it and with like 5 different cars put into one and he i guess felt sorry for me haha, so he offered to sell it and i agreed... so he is doing me a big favor here.. im meeting him tomorrow to give him the rest of the money and pick up the car.. he is very professional about his cars and he is a good guy IMO

phil

but yea i know what u mean about the server being slow.. i thought i copied the link wrong haha

What I mean is that the pictures aren't coming up or not loading.

I hope you will take care of that Q as he has been since he got it.

Now the pictures and Q45.org works, But wow reminds of my first Q45 I had, the seat controls interior Minus the dash wood.

Whats up with all the hoes in that wood trim though, no offense it looks terrible.

One way to tell a Q45 has been well maintained it too look at the trunk and engine because the seats (Drivers mostly) will be trash.

O yea you got the Mike Goodwin wooden cup holder, that's rare.

No offense goody.

The cup holder is that Piece of wood in the center console.

Now cup holders are frowned upon, But where he is a scientist they are OK.

So I take it the cup hold is aftermarket then? Why are they frowned upon?

Depends if you think your car is a bar or is meant to be driven.

Never drive with an opein container! Always have a cap on the bottle when not drinking. Your electronics will appreciate it, as will your pocket book.

Q45.org is hosted on a cup and string going to an Atari ST in a shack in Wyoming.

NICO's articles section has most of the same content, but faster.

You're a lucky buyer. Mike's a smart guy who takes care of his stuff.

As for cupholders, there is a risk. Under and behind the center console are very expensive electronics, and I don't mean the radio. I'm talking about air bag computers and the like. The safest thing to do is get a floor-level cupholder that goes next to your leg. Or just drink bottled beverages.

Thanks for all the kudos guys. I appreciate it. NICO has been an enjoyable ride for me.
ppastos wrote:Why did mike sell his 90 Q did he say?
It's been a great car, fun to drive and I've really enjoyed tinkering with it for the past 9 months. It was brought to me on a stretcher (flatbedded to my house) running on only 4 cylinders after having sat in the woods for over a year. I still get pine needles dropping out from the underside every time I wash her. I've had the plenum off 5 times to replace injectors and hoses and spent close to $3000 bringing her to back to life.

I'm selling her for financial reasons only. It's been very expensive maintaining 2 Q's to our standards. It's a reliable ride and is running great but there's still a couple thousand $$ in work left to do. Namely timing chain guides, front struts and transmission mount.

My only regret on this deal is losing the G35 rims with Goodyear Eagle tires. They would have been nice on the 94Q. I just got the rims 2 months ago (after searching Craigslist patiently for 3 months) and new tires less than 3 weeks ago (another Craigslist deal). Selling the Q was a spur of the moment decision. Oh well.

You'll enjoy the ride Phil but do get the guides taken care of.

I really hope that car see's a good home.

Now you don't need any Injectors from me I take it.

But wow.

Just to let everyone know, I've been driving home for about 3 hours now from officially buying the car from mike and it drives like a dream! I now realize how big a piece of crap my first Q was compared to this

Mike is an awesome guy, and very knowledgable, if any of u ever get the chance to meet/ hang out with him... THEN TAKE UP THAT OFFER! U won't be disappointed

Thanks again mike for saving me a whole buncha hassle with that other car and reminding me why nissan/infiniti is the best damn imported vehicle there is

Looks great! What kind of tint is it? With tint, I find its worth it to pay extra now for the quality materials -- to protect keep it looking nice (to avoid discoloration, bubbling) and to keep the interior from baking.

I'm not sure what brand the tint is, but its just above limo tint, and I think it looks awesome, and it keeps the cr cooler which s what I wanted thanks again

How were you able to get service records so quickly to determine that the chain guides were updated? The dealership and Infiniti USA both told me they had nothing. Congrats.

Lol, I told u that I new some people that knew some people that worked for nissan... I gave them the vin number the day u emailed me the spreadsheet of all the expenses and they had. It on microfish or however u spell it and he got back to me yesterday and let me know it was good to go... Sooo HOPEFULLY there should be no problems other than the transmission mount and maybe struts and such and obviously routine maintenance.. I will keep ya updated though for sure...

Ooh and I emailed that guy about the car stereo cable and he hasn't got back to me yet, so if u hear from him let him know I'm interested

Glad to hear the guides are done. That's a HUGE sigh of relief. Now you can work on everything else... and there's plenty of it coming your way (its worth it).
