we seem to have every model of nissan/infiniti covered here, cept the m30?whats up with that?

well anyway, i just picked one up and im gonna play with it a bit, just doing some basic upgrades for now, such as suspension and brakes. if i like the car, i will pursue further mods, such as engine swaps, 5 spd conversion etc.

heres some intro pics, taken by the previous owner.

If you still have the m30 , is the 5 spd. manual conv. difficult. I am having auto. trans. problems on my 90 model. I'm in the St.Luois area. I am the 2nd owner and wishing I never found it. I am having the 3rd trans. rebuild this week , I must be nuts.

trans conversion is easy, just take time to collect all the parts.

you can use all nissan parts, but you need to get a custom driveshaft made.

Mike, this is my first japanese car. From what car do I need to find parts to change my M30 to a manual. Automatic trans. problem is driving me nuts.I prefer manual trans anyway. Thanks so much for you replies. Bob, in St.Louis

maybe i should update this before we hit the 1 year mark.

i have gotten a lot done.car is now riding on s13 suspension. silkroad rma8 coilovers, ebay strut bar, s13 aftermarket tension rods, spl crazy *** tie rod ens, touge factory steering shaft bushing, poly rack bushings with brand new rack. more to come. suspension wise.

car is low

new rack, and spl tie rods

losts of angle

m30's never came in manual. i cant stand auto, so i converted it. z32 n/a trans, custom shaftmasters (nico sponsor!!) 1 piece aluminum shaft, oem maxima flywheel, exey stage 2 clutch, mazworx solid shifter bracket, spl shifter bushings in stock shifter, spl braided clutch line, speed bleeder, and hardened pivot ball. s13 clutch and brake pedals. s13 master cylinder, z32 slave.

z32 trans, and other parts. incorect clutch in picture, check out that sweet shaft masters driveshaft

pedals and shifter

i havent set up a boot yet. not really to worried about it.

next installment will be doing a tuneup (timing belt, t-stat, hoses etc.) then the turbo stuff will start going on. and at some point the brakes i have will go on.

hey man im new to nico just have a few questions for you about manual trans and the suspension upgrade.

suspension: did you m30 originally come with that stupid electronically controlled suspension that had the two setting sports and comfort. if so how did you upgrade you suspension to bypass that whole deal. and what was the figurative cost of the suspensions, even if it were to just replace struts and front shocks.

manual trans: first off everyone loves manual better than automatic that is if you know how to drive one. what were all the parts that went into you replacing the auto with manual and then what was the figurative cost on that project also.i kinda want to do this all by the end of this summer so any help would be much appreciated

thanks

Branba

well, there are different paths you can take. i used all high dollar, high qulity parts with high price tags. if i paid retail for everything i used, im looking at about $3000 just in parts for suspension and manual conversion.

but, ther are different setups you dould do, and if you shopped around you could probably do both for under 700.

im towards the end of this vid. this was my last run of the day, it kinda sucked. at this point my clutch pedal was broken, the engine was running hot, and i put on a pair of 17's after running 15's all day and it felt wierd.

http://s10.photobucket.com/alb...t.flv

and here's how you fit 8 spair wheels in an m30.

i had a almost 2 hour ride home, and in the last 10 miles my clutch pedal went to the floor and i was stuck in 3rd gear. some how i managed to catch the 3 lights between the highway and my house when they were green. stayed in 3rd, popped it into neutral once i got in my driveway and coasted into my spot.

action shots.

and believe it not, there was another gold, 5 spd swapped m30 there, his sn on here is jasterm5, look forward to him doing good things, hes had a vg30et powered s12, and a rwd impreza before.

i know this thread is old but about all the s13 parts that went into the m30??? i did some reasearch and some people say that to put the coilovers on that they will need a custom plate for the rear... is that true...or is it justa straight bolt up thing???

not much info on this bad a$$ machine called the leopard

i love this build and car... did you sell it???

fronts bolt in with the rest of the s13 front suspension.

rears you dont need a plate, just need to drill 2 holes in the top of the strut tower.

and i still have the car, i just dont really update this thread cuase no one seems to care.

its apart right now getting turboed, and the engine/trans freshened up. along with some other things.

oh, hi.

so drove home from boston tonight. got in around 630, 2.5 hour trip took 3.5, i hate traffic.

anyway, brought my stuff in, checked my email, and went straight to the garage.

pulled off the grille, headlight, drivers fender, and half the bumper.

then i gave up. on the way home i stopped and picked up a little socket/ratchet set from sears, since all of my tools stay at work. of course, the one i grab, the ratchet is defective.

then all the 10mm bolts started snapping. i dont know why, i had most of them out a few months ago, and they really arent rusty. i got pissed and went back inside.

oh, and heres the turbo manifold.
