my low fuel light never turns on. how about yours?

um... I've noticed this since I got my car close to a year ago.the needle is little bit below the E indicator now. but low fuel light never turn on.

is there a way to fix it? thanks

i've only seen mine once or twice, and that was when it was well below the empty line. they dont seem to be the most accurate things in the world, but i cant say ive ever ran out of fuel without the light coming on.

after mine is on, if i corner to the left pretty hard, its off for a mile or two.

then after 8 miles, i'm a toast.

WHen I first joined I made a thread about this. There are still pictures in there probably. You have to BURY the needle past E for the light to even think about coming on.

i didnt even know my car had one untill i took the dash apart one day... never seen it come on

granted my gas gauge was stuck on full for a year... but it accually started working again after the last drift practice.... so i dunno

mine has never come one either, I went like 30 miles once after it went to the E and still not on. also my e-brake light is always on. damn lights.

You might want to check your brake fluid then. Something is probably wrong...

the gas light on my 89 f/b only worked after the car got 200k miles. in my 92 it works randomly.

On S14's you can drive the car an easy 40 - 50 miles with the needle BELOW E.

Just about every 90's Nissan has issues with fuel level sender units.

when I went to get my transmission flushed I was told that my brake fluid was good.

mine comes on as i run out of gas on my s14. once i hit the light, i only have about 5 min to fill up.

Mines never come on and I've run out of gas.... I dont think its a burnt bulb either cause I checked that.

My fuel light wont go off even if i just fill the tank for some reason it wants to stay on so i don't worry about it since i know that my gas gauge is messed up. When it says half a tank i am out of gas and then i have to start walking or call for a ride and a gas can.Sorry if I hijacked this thread did not mean to.

Mine fuel light came on once and I made a bee line for the gas station. I was idling on a slant, so that probably had something to do with it.

every 240 I have had the fuel light has been different, but they have all come on before I was empty. I have owned 5 S13s and 2 S14s.

i tested mine once when i was with my buddy. It came on, we stopped to eat and when i got back in my car it was off. I drove to the gas that was only a couple of miles tho, but it does work.

well if you ever noticed when you fill up...when you're WELL below E, you'll probably wind up putting 14 gallons in. (When you're on E you'll probably put 13.5 gallons in) i've always found this odd, because our tanks have 17.1 gallons. which means i could probably run it until the needle actually hits whatever is actually below it lol.

but i've never run out of gas and i've only seen the light once. haha, i asked the same question too i think awhile back on a diff forum.

i found out the hard way that i run outta gas when its slightly above the E dot. i dont remember the light coming on. ill be sure to look out for it when it gets that low again.

That's odd the S-14 does have a light? I have seen the light come on many times before filling up in my old S13. In my S14 I've never seen it come on, but I 've never run it completely empty either.

I did this earlier in the year happen to come on just as I pulled into a gas station the light turns a brighter orange like seatbelt/ebrake when even lower.

Mine came on and I was able to drive with it in for two days before running out of gas lol. I think I drove about 55 miles or so with the light on. Not very accurate!

well... it seems to give you 3-4 gallons of leeway and i'm too lazy to figure out the calculations but you get the idea.
