Well, I'm back from Iraq and I have more parts than you can shake a stick at. Car has been in better shape, but whats a project with out a rust bucket of a car to start with? Basicly I'm rebuilding the entire KA minus the crank. The block is at the mill-shop getting the cylinder walls milled and the head ported for the bigger valves.

Valve cover:

Valve train and cams:

Crank:

Intake Manifold:

Various other parts:

And the hairdyer:

I'd bring a claymore back and have it the thief's front door and then ring the door bell and wait...

lol that would be funny as hell. but then blood will be all over ur ride.

its pretty cool though, when u deploy u will always have buddies from you unit behind, so they can start and drive it. ur car is 100 percent safe on base unless the SP/MP's get lazzy and let some unathurized person through one night lol. that will never happen at Andrews Air Force Base, thats the presidents base.

I was able to order parts while in Iraq, all you need is the interent and a credit card and you can do anything. Power goal is in the 400+ range. Power isn't my goal really, just reliability.

Well, I'll but it to you this way: I haven't done my job since I left the school where I learned it. A 25C now-a-days is a 'Jack of all trads, master of none.' When I was in Iraq, my job was Commander's driver so I got to leave the FOB and go places.

I don't know about those cars being safe at those cheap fenced up lots they have. I never had a problem with mine but thats cause of the unit I was in. But when I drove around post and saw the parking places they used for the cars with just a cheap 10 dollar fence around them I was like oh jeez my sister could get in there with out a problem. And you really gonna trust an MP come on his just a JO like everyone else lol all he thinks about is getting laid and the booze thats awaiting for him lol.

What I would recomend however is maybe getting a private storage for it. Drain all the fluids and park it there. They usually cost about 150 bucks a month but come on now with that nice hefty combat pay raise whats a 150 dollars to keep your car safe.

its so shiny!nice build! what kind of oil return line are you using? it looks like a rubber hose in the pic, but they are small so it could just be my eyes. either way, get that baby in and have some fun

Yeah, big warning for rubber hoses. The hydraulic hoses can´t handle heat and silicone can´t handle hot oil.We made a big hole in a silicone hose a few years ago, lost all the oil in seconds on the freeway. The oil had melted/removed the inner layer of the hose, crazy...

If you need to use a hose, only use a short piece after a long piece of metal tube. Like the stock CA or SR.Another good option is to use steel braided teflon hose, hard to kill.

I don't know about you guys but when I was active duty if we got deployed or went on a long field problem our cars got put in the battalion motor pool surrounded by concetina wire. If anyone wanted to steal your car thay had to not on get into the motor pool but also through the contins wire which if you've ever worked with the stuff is not a fun task even if you have bolt cutters, you almost always get cut in at least one place, then you have to try to finagle your way out, which for us meant you had to move all the cars just to get one out.

Either way nice build what rods/pistons are you using? How much did they charge you at the shop? Looks like you got it hot tanked on top of the mil job. You go .02 or .05 overbore?

Oh and CO's driver is quite possibly the best job you can have at any company, unless your CO is a complete d!ck, then it just sucks. I spent 6 months as Platoon Sargeant/Platoon LT's driver and it rocked, the guy after me had a new Platoon Sargeant who pimped out his Humvee with a radio and tv/dvd setup. The only cushier job in a unit is the Unit Armorer which I also had the joy of doing, you pretty much don't do d!ck all day except the occassional alert or inventory tends to suck ***.

Even with the full build up I bet you still have a but load of cash left in your account, so does that mean you will be getting a killer suspension setup next.

Power goal is 500, but I have to get new injectors first. Keeping the manual for now, plan to do the 300ZX conversion later. The oil return line is a rubber hose that came with the kit. The hose if fairly wide on the inside and has thick sidewalls. But you do make a good point about the oil burning thru and I'll looking into getting a more durible hose. The pistons are Ares which are 20 over and forged Crower rods. And yes, suspension is next. I'm just going to start out with coilovers for now then slowly start adding components.
