Heres my little build up. I've been working on it occasionaly since January. All the work is done at my brothers shop by him and myself.

Heres the car.

Here are some pictures of the cage.

The dash is now black.

I just recently mounted the fuel cell. Its a 15 gal. aluminum one from summit. I cut the spare wheel well out ans sank it in. I used 1 in. square tube and ran it from the frame rails to support the cell. The floor will be covered in aluminum for a cleaner look.

I have a few more things done/mocked up for it. I'll post the pictures for those in a little bit.

But here are some of the specs of the build:

ITS T4/67mm turboCustom exhaust manifoldCustom intake manifoldQ45 Throttle bodyV-Mount intercooler/radiator setupPauter RodsWiseco PistonAutronic SMC StandalonePaxton Pump160lb InjectorsCustom Fuel RailWhitebunny Special Clutch setup with clutchmasters clutch

I'll have some more pictures up soon.

Here are some pics of the recent progress on the v mount. The radiator is just sitting there not mounted, but that is where it will be. I cut the Radiator support out and fabbed up a new bar to fit in. There will be two more mounts on the rear of the intercooler also. All in all I'll have less than 2 feet of piping and hopefully better cooling.

I have them wrapped in cardboard so I don't **** up the fins.

Here are some pics of the manifold. I just tacked it together last night. It puts the turbo where the power steering pump is. I'm gonna make a bracket and put the pump lower. This manifold gives plenty of master cylinder clearance and should be enough room for a 4 in. downpipe.

I've since decided to redo it though, so pics of the new manifold will be up sometime later on.

Here is the start of the intake manifold plenum.

Here is the aluminum piece I made last night to cover the rear floor. It will be riveted into place once its polished up.

I haven't got much further. I'm in the process of redoing the 3rd runner of the exhaust manifold.

Here is the black dash sitting in there. I think it looks alot better.

I forgot to show pictures of the upper part of the cage. Here they are.

Here is what the manifold is gonna be like. Its on my brothers sr. Would anyone be interested in one of these for the ka?

Whats that sneaking around in my car?

Here are the headlights.

Haven't done a whole lot on the car lately, but I found an older pic of the floor in progress. I cut out the hump and lowered it and welded it back in. I'm now running a solid mounted seat and it sits much lower than before.

Man you've done some work. What are you going to be doing with the car? Autocross, Drag? I wish I had your garage. Well any garage would be better then my current situation.

Should be a demon when she's finished.

It gonna be a toy for me. Some street action, but mainly road course, time attack stuff. But it will see alittle of everything.

The garage is nice, its my brothers business. Tig, mig, plasma cutter, tube bender, tube notcher all that fun stuff.

I hope to have it running and all done by early spring, but we will see.

Plasma cutter...I have the welding stuff, but no Plasma cutter...they make almost any project so much simpler. Course the tubing notcher and bender for that matter must come in wicked handy. I end up buying the bends.

I think the car is haunted. The old setup snapped 4 wrist pins on a built motor.
Edub1 wrote:How much did the stock fuel tank weigh?
Honestly, I didn't weigh it. But it was lighter than I thought it would be, I won't be saving a bunch of weight. I did it because I'm running an external fuel pump and I didn't want to sump the stock tank.

I'll have to look into that. I don't see a way I could have kept it seperate without it sitting extremly low. Worst comes to worst I could build something to seal it off.
Dustin240 wrote:How thick is the tubing and what type?
The manifold is 304ss 1.5 in pipe. Sch. 10. The roll cage is 1.75 o.d. .120 wall thickness.

350z base model 17" wheel. Not mine though, I have a set of 300zx tt wheels and a set of 17x9 17x10.5 svt cobra wheels at the moment. I'd like to go to a set of ccw's in 17x10 17x11. I had a set of 16x9.5s and loved them.

The fuel cell was like $170 from summit. The steel was like $10. The undercoating was like $8. So about $188 plus welding wire and gas and some time.

Yeah I know its gonna be laggy. But it does have the .68ar twin scroll housing, so we will see.

Now that is a beast of a rollcage. Only looks like a half mile of tubing. You planning on some demolition derby? haha.

Very nice build. Nice V mount. Awesome looking tubular manifold too. Props on your skill and patience to pull this off. And +1 for the CCW wheels!

great looking work so far! just a few things, the 2 parallel bars in the halo bar is extra weight with not much torsional rigidity. maybe just a diagonal bar? and the rear down tubes should of been mounted to the apex of the bend of the main hoop to support the bends. other than that, fantastic work. im not talkin out my butt either. i was one of the main fabricators for a 6 second chromoly drag chassis. did 50 percent of the tig welding and 60 percent of tube fitting and measuring.
